4 U.S. senators travel to post-Gadhafi Libya

I find it a little disturbing that my senator feels a need to go to Libya.

There are enough real AMERICAN problems to deal with right here, right now.

Imagine if our country was overthrown like Libya. Wouldn't you feel a little uncomfortable if China (#2 world superpower) sent some of it's people over here to hold a news conference?

It seems a little arrogant on our part to be doing such a thing.

Not if you want to make sure that the country doesn't degenerate into chaos. Not if you want to make sure democracy gets a fair chance to take hold.

BTW, they have oil that europe buys. Just helping our allies out.

Why is that the responsibility of the United States? What other NATO countries are sending Senators? All at the expense of the taxpayer

The other countries don't have senators; and they DO send representatives, though.
