Feds seek to reverse Ted Stevens' conviction

The Justice Department asked a judge Wednesday to toss out the corruption conviction of former Sen. Ted Stevens because prosecutors withheld evidence from his defense team during his trial. Stevens was convicted of seven felony counts of lying on Senate financial disclosure forms to conceal hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts and home renovations from a wealthy oil contractor.

If the Justice Department has proof that their prosecutors witheld evidence from a defendant's lawyer during trial why arent the prosecutors arrested or disbarred for this gross malpractice? Perhaps if we threw a few of these dishonest prosecutors who obviously have no desire to play by the rules in jail or took away their license to practice law the problem would go away. They article doesn't even give the names of these corrupt bastards. Doesn't this open the door to question all the other cases these dishonest prosecutors have tried?

Actually, he makes a valid point. The Justice department at that time was filled with Bush appointees. The politicization of the JD was Bush's work. And they still found Stevens guilty. Is it that hard to believe that they would throw the game so to speak?
