Arlen will be remembered by me as a self-serving arrogant hardhead who put his interests above the good of the country. I am glad to see him go as I never liked career politicians, and he is a good example why.

Riiiiight... because saying "conservative Republicans who backed tea party challengers against establishment candidates in the recent elections engaged in political cannibalism" sounds exactly "like a slap at Obammy" - if you're a dolt.

What you think you heard was probably the sound of you playing with yourself.

A pathetic way for a tired, bitter, old fool like Spector to retire under. He showed no class when he switched parties or cast votes to benefit him, not the people of PA and he showed no class today only bitterness and resentment.
Hopefully he will retire to Florida, because we don't want him in PA, where he and Charlie Crist can share war stories about trying to do things to benefit themselves rather than the people and how that worked out for the two of them. LOSERS!
I don't think he wants to retire to Florida. He wants to make (take)more of your tax dollars by working for the Obama Administration.

Great point this guy always seemed to be a self-serving arrogant hardhead who put his interests above the good of the country. Switch parties to stay in the senate, thinking that we all would tolerate the changing of parties for a survival reasons. Its diffidently time for you to pack your things and leave Washington. You may have done many good deeds in you tenure as a Senator. They were over clouded with your vision. You used to stand for your honor and morals the willingness to cross party lines on key votes was respectful to most of us.
So, when someone like Specter is ignored them or says something negative, they take it as proof that the other senators dislikes them as much as they dislike themselves. But that makes them really angry, so they lash out. His complaining the ideological purity of some lawmakers, make it difficult to get work done. Specter also complained that leaders in both parties in recent years have found ways to prevent senators from freely offering amendments on bills. Times have changed and you were voted out of your position, PA will be better for your long years of service. I hope you enjoy your retirement.

In 30 years of Arlen Spectors spectacular tenure as US Senator we have seen the jobs market drop and drop and drop. There are many vacant buildings in Lebanon that used to be owned by Bethlehem Steel Corp. Under Arlen's watch and many other politicians our steel industry found it's way to china!
It is time to stop the unions and our government from pushing more jobs over seas and across our border. Do you think The Hershey Company moved south for the warmer climate? No they did not, they moved production jobs to Mexico because the Mexican people work hard and they aren't greedy. I offer this as proof that unions and our government are to blame for the job loss in America today!

For the left wing kookoos against tax cuts for the so called rich; let me clue you in on something.

The so called rich are our business owners, people who take risks in order to make a profit and create jobs. If we tax them more like the progressive commies want to do, then we pay more for our NIKE sneakers and our food plain and simple. A business doesn't pay taxes period, all that is figured into the price we pay at the cash register.

So when taxes get raised we pay more plain and simple. Why do we pay more, because as a business owner and worker we all have a right to work and earn as much money as we can. No one has a right to tell us how much we can earn and how much is too much. This is The United States of America, still a free country, the government, the unions and the people have no right to question how much profit a company makes!!!!!!!!!!

Guys like Spector are essentially parasites, who care almost nothing about America or it's citizens, yet remain solidly focused on keeping their jobs. His exit should serve notice to all politicians and give courage and support to the TEA Party and all good Americans!
