Traditionaly , the "Leader of the GOP" would be the President as a hope full of a successive term. Then the vice president and so on.
After losing the party disperses and the funding stops.
The Democracts still have active supporters year around . Win or lose. As the Private islanders fade away in acounting history.

A Radical Thought - Choose a leader for your political party !!!!!!

Stay in the news and communicate with the voting public.

No one takes cheerleading seriously - Its all about the main event.

"We cannot elect any more liberals to Washington, D.C., especially ones who wear the banner of being a Republican. It is an honor to be a Republican," Christine O'Donnell told supporters.

Over the past 50 years our Party has been infiltrated with turn coat Democrats and Dixicrats. The time has come to vote the professional politicians out of office and hire people who will get the job done.

Secure our borders,

Get American's back to work,

Fix health care.

As we saw just after Barry Seotoro AKA Barrack Husein Obama was elected and several Democrats who had been claiming they were Republicans returned to the Democratic Party. Then we still have the Dixiecrats we need to weed out.

Back when Richard Nixon was running for the Presidency he welcomed the Dixiecrats into our party claiming that we could not win a presidential election without them. Very BIG Mistake. They only isolated us from parts of our power base. The Black, Jewish and Hispanic communities. The reason why the Dixiecrats left the Democratic party was the Democrats were breaking heavy upon the KKK who they supported and were pushing for Civil Rights which is totally against what the Dixiecrats stand for.

This pollute the Republican Party as we became the party of non tolerance of others. Once we get rid of the Dixiecrts we can start putting our Party back on track. Once we do a lot of people who are claiming to be Democrats will return to the Republican Party.

Then we still have a lot of people like John McCain who cannot win an election as a Democrat who are still active in the Republican Party. These turn coat Democrats MUST also be forced out of OUR Republican Party and back into the Democratic Party where they belong.

Term limits are set by the voters. When the voters start voting out the Professional Politicians we will all be able to breath a little better.

You see under the Constitution our political leaders in the Congress were only suppose to be part timers spending 3 months out of the year in Washington and the remainder of the year back on their farm, in their shop or in their office. They also received part time wages for the time the Congress was in session only. The current salary (2010) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000.00 per year. so if we divide that amount by 12 months we get $14,500.00 per month. Now when we multiply that by the the 3 months the Congress is in session we has a total pay check of $43,500.00 for each of our Representatives and Senators.

When our elected politicians are in session 6 or 9 months out of the year they have way too much time on their hands with which to screw us over. By limiting the length of the yearly sessions to 3 months we are limiting their ability to screw us over. Not only that but by limiting their pay they are less likely to get themselves into trouble.

I think your missing something out that Ezra Klein points out

"This hypothetical isn't much of a hypothetical, sadly: It's the background for Karen Bass, the speaker of the Assembly, who was elected in 2004. Nor is she unique. The acting president of the Senate secured his seat in 2006 (although he did serve in the Assembly before that).

The product of this verges on the comical. As a California budget-watcher pointed out to me, when you get Arnold Schwarzenegger in a room with the leadership of the Senate and Assembly, Schwarzenegger has the most budget and legislative experience in the room. A guy who was starring in Terminator films as recently as 2003 is now the most seasoned elected official during one of the worst crises California has ever had. Term limits are one of those ideas that sound good in theory but are madness in practice. You wouldn't want to go to a hospital filled with medical residents or stock a sports team with an ever-changing cast of rookies. Legislating is hard. We need to give people time to learn how to do it

this would be great if the jerks in congress would agree to it.then you could vote them out for not doing what they promise before elections.it wont happen because the old repubs are as left as dems on many issues.look at how the repib.are trying to block conservative people on elections.the people have spoken and the repubs.dont want to except the conservative person elected in primary.the gop still doesent get it.
