This has been political theatre of the absurd orchestrated by [G]Reid and Obamaniac since DAY ONE because neither one of them wants DADT repealed. This is nothing more than grandstanding and window dressing by Obamaniac so he can repeat Clinton's tired old line: "Oh well, I tried".

He was pandering to us since the day he announced his candidacy. He has never wanted DADT repealed.

If you disagree, then please provide SOME, ANY concrete evidence that he is NOT LYING.

You have no proof he's lying, so we're even.

The right-leaning newsies say it's DOA, the left-leaning newsies say it's a done deal. As usual, the truth is somewhere in between. Following this issue too close between now & Dec 1st will just drive the average person (me) crazy. Besides calling your Senators and urging them to push for a vote, there isn't much we can do at this point except wait.

But we also have no proof that Frank is lying....

So where does that leave us?

And YES, FRANK is a GASBAG....

And I am not lying....

From the article:

" ... But a handful of those 60 votes come with a condition: that both Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) agree to allow senators to offer amendments to and have an extensive debate on the bill ... "

Every Amendment christmas-tree'd onto the Bill requires that it be sent back to the House for another vote.

LOL

The PROOF is that he has been in office nerly 2 years, and DADT has STILL not been repealed. If he wanted it repealed than why was it not done so when he had an overwhelming majority n the House (which he still has) and a filibuster-proof majority (which he NO LONGER HAS) in the Senate ?

Woudn't it have meade MORE sense to have it repealed then ?!

Obviously, he waited til now because he knows it will fail because he does not, and NEVER wanted, DADT repealed.

What more proof do you want ?

Obama never had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. The democrats had 60 votes only if you were assured of several conservative democrats who are more aligned with the GOP. We have no party discipline in congress, so all votes depend on schooling and coalition building.

Obama wants DADT repealed, but not at the expense of the political capital it will require.

You are very correct. In Idaho, for example, Democrats are effectively Republican.

Offering amendments and actually getting the votes to pass those amendments are 2 entirely different things. The Dems still have the votes to prevent passage of any amendment they don't like. So I say let the GOP offer all the amendments they want, if that's what it takes to get the NDAA & DADT repeal to the floor.

That's where Reid screwed up last time around, which is why Lincoln & Collins & Snowe & Pryor & Lugar & Voinovich voted against cloture.

The only "proof" would be if Obama actually says "I don't want DADT repealed" on national television. Anything short of that is simply your deranged speculation because he isn't repealing it the way YOU want it repealed.

Has he failed to get DADT repealed so far? Yes.
Could he have done it earlier or better or different? Yes
Does that mean he's lying when he says he want it repealed? Unknown.

You refuse to face reality.

In the words of that famous American: "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why ? I look at Democrats and see EVIL." (R. Kennedy).(aka my Uncle Ron.)

And you still fail to offer any proof of your demented claims.

It's SO simple. Just provide a link or source where Obama stated he didn't want DADT repealed.

One cannot prove a negative as you well know. Therefore YOU please provide a link where Obamaniac® has been our "FIERCE ADVOCATE" and has had DADT (signed into law by a DEMOCRATIC President) repealed.

That's a nice dodge.

You claim Obama lied about wanting DADT repealed. If that is the case, it should be fairly simple to find a public statement where he said he didn't want it repealed. If you can't find that, then you have ZERO proof he lied, only your deranged opinion.

My proof that he supports repeal is in his numerous public statements that he wants it repealled, including in his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress.

While he may have failed thus far, that is certainly no proof he doesn't want it repealled. It simply means he hasn't been successful yet. He HAS gotten the House to pass the repeal. One house down, one to go.
