The Senate just voted by a 52-43 majority to end the GOP's filibuster of Professor Goodwin Liu's nomination to a federal appeal court - which, in the bizarro world that is the U.S. Senate, means that Liu's nomination will not move forward.

No more or less than the Republicans who cried about fillibusters against their judges in 2005 but have no problem threatening filibusters of their own now.
Hypocrisy doesn't belong to any one political party.
agreed, but that leaves the article as just another example namecalling being substituted for either serious discussion on issues or even a serious discussion on politics...then again this is topix (mostly a mud throwing name calling haven for those who's most relevent thought is uttered as a string of vulgarity) so what more could one expect....remind me again why I visit this site...

Wow. So if it doesn't include the buzz words and Fox News programming, you can't recognize it?
It's four quotes, dimbulb. Two Republican senators abjectly and hypocritically reversing themselves on the position of allowing up-down Senate votes on presidential judiciary appointments.
Want me to get some crayons to draw you a picture?
And that's so very different than, say, a junior senator from Illinois declaring that raising the debt ceiling is a failure of leadership and voting against it, but when it's his leadership, we have to do it or the sky will fall.

No, that's not hypocritical at all, is it?

I think I finally understand. It's not that you guys DON'T get it. You just CHOOSE to not get it.

Elected office is SUPPOSED to be an aspiration of SUPERIOR behavior by the best people America has to offer. Instead, we're stuck with a bunch of lying, greedy lowlifes and their blind, ignorant supporters - on BOTH sides of the aisle - and the day-in/day-out repetition of "who can accuse the other of being the bigger scumbag while doing exactly what they accuses others of."

Hypocrisy is hypocrisy. And no amount of "but they did it too" from either Republicans or Democrats makes it acceptable.

Ah, I see. You think Democrat hypocrisy is bad. But you think your Republican hypocrisy is good.

Thanks for proving my point.

Woof, Larry, "putz" is a vulgar word meaning Penis, deriving from the Yidish dialect. Your use of it is inappropriate and antisemetic, a trait I have noticed in you lately. How long have you been antisemetic?
I have another vulgar word that I'm saving just for you, Fido. I'll withhold it for the moment.

You've thrown the term around long enough to learn how to spell the damn word. It's "Yiddish", a grand and colorful language, and the source of my vulgarism toward you. Keep guessing, Your Lowness.
