How far will we go electing crackpots?

There are 29 comments on the Bennington Banner story from Sep 28, 2010, titled How far will we go electing crackpots?. In it, Bennington Banner reports that:

In politics, one person's kook is another's Abraham Lincoln, but most observers would agree that the election of 2010 has produced more than its share of flake office-seekers, in a variety of states across the country.

I don't think any of the newer candidates have topped Patty Murry or Dennis Kucinich. There are plenty of other incumbents in the same category.

And the bush-lovin' gay hatin', Jesus lovin', America hatin' pro war Fox News losers LOVE IT! The Fox "news" casters can barely hide the tents they're pitchin' when they deliver a "story" on these dangerous psychos.

But that's not a problem for people like you! Bias in your direction is no bias at all!

I kinda hope the loons win in Nov. America will see just how bad conservative wingnuts really are when their mouth-foaming insane ideas are put into practice.

Go home, wingnuts! Get out of our country!

I would not put it in quite those terms.

But yes, those of us who feast on a steady diet of fair and balanced do appreciate knowing that there are millions in the Silent Majority that the lib news media wants to ignore.

but you're not biased and are fair and balanced....LOL

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to those propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

AT THE TIME:
* The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

* The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

* The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

* George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

REMEMBER THE DAY...
* January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the
House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the
Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what
part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS!(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????
OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???
OBAMA and the Democratic Congress

So when some one tries to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving.

Set the record straight on Bush! Place responsibility where it belongs.

"It's not that liberals aren't smart, it's just that so much of what they know isn't so" - Ronald Reagan

Here's what the Democrats have accomplished with Four years controlling the House and Senate, and Two years controlling all three...House, Senate and the WH....

Destroyed the economy
"Deemed" Healthcare overthrow
Failed Stimilus
Failed GM bailout
Failed bank bailout
Union bailouts
Ignoring Constituents
Record Foodstamps
Demonizing Business
Demonizing Insurance Carriers
Demonizing News Agencies
Demonizing Chamber of Commerce
Demonizing the TEA Party
let me repeat that
Demonizing the average TAXPAYING citizen
Election Fraud

Crush the National Socialist Democratic Party in November
crush ACORN,(now OFA), SEIU and the UAW

Democrats = Foodstamps
Republicans = Paychecks

I wanted a president who wasn't going to squander everything Clinton worked to set up, but I got some idiot from Texas instead.

You're little list I notice doesn't mention trillion dollar wasteful wars that had to be sold to us with flat lies, not does it mention massive Bush's efforts to deregulate big corporations.

The silent majority isn't Republican, as evidences by the hordes of screaming Tea Party idiots and AN ENTIRE NEWS ORGANIZATION DEVOTED TO BEING THE PR WING OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!

Welfare v. paychecks...hmmm, more like sound economic policies versus big business bending us over every time we turn around.

Without welfare, who will the Republicans blame for the world's ills? It's going to get harder to blame everything on the dems as time goes on, especially, if, god forbid, you psychos get power again.

Knowing our luck the loons will happily take credit for the effects of the Obama administration. "Look, we've been in power two days and things are getting better!"

No more Republicans. No more "conservatives." No more traitors and no more morons in government. Vote them out, deport them, whatever.

I won't argue with the idiot from Texas part.

Bush spent too much money while he was in office.

But what makes you think Clinton was so smart?

He was on a mission toward the same kind of far left adminstration that Obama is giving us now until Newt Gengrich and the Republicans took over the congress in 1994.

After that Bubba was forced to move to the center.

Obama is doing exactly what his ideology tells him. Read "The Weight of the Poor A Strategy to End Poverty", by Cloward-Piven. This Alinsky-like duo address exactly what Obama's ideology is, a strategy of forcing politically through orchestrated crisis to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the bureaucracies with a flood of impossible demands pushing society into a crisis and economic collapse. He's right on target I'd say.

Agreed.

Obama is just being Obama.

He told us before the election that his goal was to redistribute the wealth.

Which is the goal of all collectivists.

And I think most Obama voters sort of understood that since freebies from the government is what they wanted also.
