This will give us 34 year old drunk drivers who promise to someday get a GED.

1. The DREAM Act is about kidding, not about the kids. It covers illegal alien "kids" up to age 35.

2. DREAM is an Instant Amnesty. Illegal aliens get a provisional amnesty immediately just for applying.

3. It is a fraud dream amnesty. When they apply, illegal aliens don't have to PROVE that they meet the criteria for the amnesty. The merely have to CLAIM they meet the criteria. It is the government that has to prove that they don't qualify. The only way they lose their amnesty is if the government takes the money and time to prove that they don't qualify.

4. DREAM rewards the parents who broke the law to bring the "kids" to the U.S. All the illegal aliens who get the amnesty can turn around and sponsor their parents and other adult relatives.

5. DREAM rewards illegal aliens who come in the future. It eliminates the federal prohibition against giving in-state tuition to illegal aliens.

6. DREAM eventually can provide an amnesty to the majority of illegal aliens in the U.S. Everybody under age 35 willing to commit fraud can get an instant amnesty, and most of those 35 or older can get an eventual path to citizenship through the younger illegal aliens.

7. People concerned about the compelling cases of individual illegal students should push for a bill that:

* is limited to the compelling cases
* has no chance for fraud
* excludes chain migration of any kind
* includes mandatory e-verify for every employer

None of these frauds are actually on a hunger strike. How does one verify they haven't eaten in a week or whatever?

All hunger strikes are hoaxes.

Any moron who's stupid enough to try and bluff the American public with a feigned hunger strike is totally undeserving of US Citizenship.

Do they not listen to public opinion polls? Are they too dense to recognize that most Americans are not going to care if they attempt to extort us with a pathetic tactic like this? If anything, it will only contribute to resentment and reaffirm people's resolve and opposition.

These kids are clearly not the brightest bunch if this is the best strategy they could come up with for appealing their case.

Perhaps I'll listen to them when each and every one of them loses at least 30 pounds. Then, I might be persuaded to believe they're serious about this....as opposed to pulling a really pathetic stunt to try and coerce us.

Yes, the spoiled little children will hold their breath and turn blue until they get exactly what they want, even though they don't deserve it or need it, in spite of who they harm. Such hissy fits are really chidlish buds of future criminal extortion. We're supposed to fund these idiots? Not in this life.

Let the little gorditas starve themselves. They'll be thinner, so we can get more of them in each boxcar when we start shipping them back home.

We hear you Independent!! But consider the source. As a group they are not the brightest. But yet they can't seem to get it through their skulls that we are sick and tired of the coddling. I hear that Mexico offers full scholarships, so why do we need to keep paying for them since they are nothing more than 3rd world invaders?

Let them go hungry. Texas is starting to crack down on illegal immigration so we won't have to put up with their bull much longer.

I agree, let them starve. If they are that stupid to think that this kind of blackmail works, then they deserve to go hungry.

Everyone knows that the DREAM ACT is just another amnesty for illegal aliens who are demanding the same treatment as legal immigrants and citizens.

While they are starving, they should be checked for identification, and then arrested and deported for illegal immigration. The government would have an easy job of it, since they are protesting something that ONLY illegal aliens would want.

Now that would a nice DREAM.

This is so funny...Hispanic obesity rates is on the rise, so this little attempt to strong-arm Americans into acquiescence of their unwarranted demands actually may benefit their health. Diabetes is on the rise in this group, so good, starve, and get healthier. Americans still say no to any kind of amnesty.

I can visualize 'chain calls' initiating in California's academia world in this ill conceived plan to force American's opinion to the left. The developing mind of America's youth is held hostage for 'grades' in our college environment. We need to clean house in our Universitys and colleges across the land since they are just warehouses for the non-thinking.
