Being backed by Sarah Palin could be a burden on candidates in the November general election, according to the latest NBC/WALL STREET JOURNAL poll.

The national survey queried voters on how they would respond to a Congressional candidate with a set of hypothetical attributes.

Voters were asked how they would feel if a candidate were endorsed by Palin, ex-Alaska governor, 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, and the politician who turned energy policy into a sound bite: "Drill Baby Drill."

The results:
• Just 8 percent of those surveyed replied that they would be "enthusiastic about this attribute"
• A slightly higher number, 17 percent, answered that they would be "comfortable with this attribute"
• A total of 15 percent of those polled said they would "have some reservations about this attribute"
• A whopping 37 percent replied that they would be "very uncomfortable with this attribute."

Christians in Gaza Fear for Their Lives as Muslims Burn Bibles and Destroy Crosses

Published June 18, 2007
by: Kimberly West

After defeating their rivals in Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, Muslim extremists are focusing their attacks on Christians in Gaza City. Christians in Gaza City have issued an appeal to the
international community and a plea for protection against the increased attacks by Muslim extremists.

Father Manuel Musallem, head of Gaza's Latin church, told the AP that Muslims have ransacked, burned and looted a school and convent that are part of the Gaza Strip's small Romany Catholic community. He told the AP that crosses were broken, damage was done to a statue of Jesus, and at the Rosary Sister School and nearby convent, prayer books were burned.

Gunmen used the roof of the school during the fighting, and the convent was "desecrated," Mussalem told the AP.

"Nothing happens by mistake these days," he said.

Father Musalam additionally told The Jerusalem Post that the Muslim gunmen used rocket-propeled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors of the church and school, before burning Bibles and destroying every cross they could get their hands on.

Article from Great Britain:

"As Sarah Palin's star rises, critics expose her dark side"

In public she is the family woman in touch with ordinary Americans. But two new accounts allege that in private she's a two faced, mean-spirited bully.

By Guy Adams
Friday, 3 September 2010

Sarah Palin is the target of critical comments in 'Vanity Fair,' and in a book published by her former running mate's daughter, Meghan McCain.

“She tells lies. She's a lousy tipper. She billed the Republican Party more than $3,000 for the underwear she bought during the last Presidential election, including dozens of Spanx girdles.

Oh, and for all the cutesy charm that Sarah Palin projects in public, she's got a nasty habit of bullying staff, losing her temper with friends and family, and, when particularly upset, throwing tin cans at her husband, Todd.”

Nothing like spouting a good lie in the morning jack. Polls show repubs ahead or even with Dems on all major issues.

President Obama's jobs problem: Passion

By GLENN THRUSH | 9/10/10 6:48 PM EDT

President Barack Obama displayed flashes of the passion, persuasiveness and capacity to inspire that won him the White House during his Friday press conference in the East Room.

One problem: Obama was at his most eloquent — and emotional — when talking about religious freedom, the lower Manhattan mosque and the safety of U.S. service members and less so when discussing the economic toll of the recession, the thing most Americans seem to care about most heading into the midterms.

It was a one-hour-and-17-minutes performance that seemed to perfectly capture the president’s struggle to strike the right tone on an issue — the 9.6 percent unemployment rate — that is both defining and deflating his presidency.

“President Obama today demonstrated real passion about religious freedom.… If Obama showed this kind of emotion and authenticity about the economy and unemployment, his unfavorable ratings would probably go down,” said former George W. Bush adviser Mark McKinnon, one of the few GOP operatives who refused to campaign against Obama in 2008.

“Passion confers a leader cares about something strongly and is therefore a priority,” he added.
