The rules that govern a Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) have been in place for many years. Obama is not responsible for those rules.
But those rules are antiquated.
They need to be changed.
Meanwhile here in CA it doesn't matter. Anything the fed gives us the state takes away.
And still we disabled can't get food stamps.

Not necessarily. People in CA on Social Security Disability making less that the maximum payment get a thing they call SSP. What the letters stand for I don't know, I am told that it is an cash allotment for food. But as long as they are getting 1 dollar of SSP they are not eligible for food stamps no matter that their income vs expenses would otherwise qualify them. What this means, in CA last Nov the SSP amount was $100 per month. Then came the cuts to $90,$65,$55,$35, it is now at $30.$30 is much lower than the $176 food stamps amount but remember if you are disabled and qualify for even $1 of SSP you are not eligible for the increased amount food stamps that Obama put in the stimulus package.

NO! NO!, Obama is not resposible! He would twist the arms in Congress if it was one of his pet projects! I don't receive SS, but I feel for the poor people who are living on limitrd amounts of money and have no one to turn to.
By the way: each member of Congress will receive a $4,700 raise in 2010......but, they need it, Right??

What the government should do is give H1N1 to as many of these old people as possible this flu season as I suspect is what happened with H1N1 virus-then the SS checks of the deceased can be evenly distributed to as many of the surviving senior citizen population. Let the cap be 87. I suspect anyone who catches H1N1 at that age will most like die.

No, it is tax and borrow on tomorrow. It is a ponzi scheme just like Bernie Madoff and it is starting to fail because we spent it all as it came in to "balance" the budget.
