Now most of the traffic will hit the terminus at Melboure where they will have to turn right to go through the residential neighborhoods or left and hit the light at E Rio/Park St. The traffic that doesn't take the parkway will then meet those that do at that light. In the morning when buses are dropping off students at the school what is going to happen to the traffic taking the parkway? Those that wish to take the parkway north in the afternoon will again run into the issue of buses and students. Warner should have kept his nose out of it and got a real job.

This road was originally approved in 1968, so it's about time!

Now if the luddite, obstructionist, gridlock oriented Gang of 10 people will just shut up, stop these nuisance lawsuits and let the other 500 yards of road get built perhaps we can save some lives; compared to that paved over deer trail, death-trap of a road called Rio.

I guess you are living proof that no good deed goes unpunished. I'm curious though, don't you think the Charlottesville City Council is more to blame with their seemingly endless delays than Senator Warner?
Also, why would any more people be turning right at the Melbourne Road terminus than were headed that way before, using the old route coming down Rio Road East? Sorry, I don't see any change in the level of traffic.

90 days beyond completion date....each day has a $2500.00 value....tax payers, you must demand your money back from the contractor....they have already made an additional 3 million from what they claimed to be "unforseen" issues

Rogue Rider, the Gang of 10 who manufactured that delay through their nuisance lawsuit should pay the $2500 a day fee.

You can blame that fiasco on Dave Norris et al. If you're going to take potshots, at least make sure they're aimed at the right target.

It's not too late! Call the Justice Brothers! File a federal lawsuit! This is an outrage. NIMBY!
