1 I've a better idea: How about the government —ALL GOVERNMENT— get the heck out of the business of marriage, PERIOD. You know: Just as it used to be? . And, insofar as firearms go, the right to carry ANYWHERE in everyplace the U.S. Constitution has authority should be THE LAW OF THE LAND. . Well, actually it IS, but that's another story. . But, I understand the essence of the matter: . [1] The Congress is nought but a pack of equivocating dissemblers . [2] The potus is a closet queen in denial, and before things are through, he'll have to contend with the Congress looking into a male 'Monica' incident in the Oval office. . [3] The judges on the USSC can't read well, much less comprehend the essence of the USC. . That pretty much covers 'things,' doesn't it? . |

1 Your proposition is false, inasmuch that there are NO laws against whatever carriage in the states of Vermont and Alaska. . Further there are a number of states where 'open carry' is practiced quite widely, and your 'scenario' has not even begun to evince itself. . Now what? . You'll be explaining how it is that your premise above is without validity in those places, right? . You'll be doing that, won't you? . Right? . |

Ah the same old tired parrot. Do you get paid for the constant off topic reposts Daniel? A lot like a little kid, "are we there yet" over aand over. Makes any desire to engage you in a discussion a fleeting thought. Yeesh.

Ah yes, still buying into that whole "Wild West Myth", eh? Too much TV & movies will do that to a person. Try reality, it beats the left wing mindset. |

So this is like, what, full faith and credit for gun laws?
Second amendment questions aside, I think the conservatives have no business advocating anything of the sort in the context of gay rights while they retain the Defense of Marriage Act's undoing of full faith and credit for same-sex marriages. Gun control is a weird issue---both sides' biggest argument being a right to safety, either the safety being armed provides or a degree of safety from an environment full of armed civilians ... I have never known what to say on it, so I'll refrain from commenting on the that aspect of things, and simply point out the hypocrisy of Republicans a) packaging their agenda as helpful to the rights of a group whose rights they generally oppose, and b) switching their position on a governing principle (full faith and credit) depending on whether or not they like a specific policy's effects. |
