So,the Dems want us to spend $14 Billion dollars to have the auto makers fall under the authority of an all-powerful "car czar," who will help the companies to restructure, monitor their behavior, and make sure they sell an airplane or two. The law would also require them to build cars that meet unnecessary and burdensome environmental standards, even though the green-mobiles are among the least profitable models the companies make and very few people got excited about buying them even when gas was almost $5.00/gallon.

Sounds like bankruptcy with a $14 Billion twist of socialism and a splash of global warming Kool-aid to me. And in the end, they will either be forced into bankruptcy by the czar or will be eligible for more of our money.

And our resident oversight expert (see Fannie and Freddie) and HR specialist (GM CEO must go!) Chris Dodd will surely support this disaster. Remember all this in 2010, folks.

I think its funny if you look at the one brand saying it doesn't need the money. FORD, the only american car company to still make all its trucks in the USA. the UAW who are the ones everyone blames builds the followign ford products- ALL F-series sold in American, mustang, tarus, focus, explorer, Taurus edge X, Expedition, and ranger. Now why is it that this company who makes almost all its line up in American by union hands is the one with money. I think this shows that GM & Chrysler maybe should think about not payign the execs so much. for more info abotu where cars are made you can go straight to the source

Support and actual American company and buy Ford. The other companies have sold out and outsourced their production so why even buy them if you want to buy American, and why should they get money from us..maybe they shoudl ask Canada and Mexico for a free check so we can put all our money in a real american company.
