RNC Calls for Immigration Reform, but No Pathway to Citizenship

Aug 16, 2013 Full story: WAPI-AM Birmingham 484

The Republican National Committee passed a resolution Friday calling on President Obama and Congress to pass immigration reform legislation before the end of the year, but it did not include a pathway to citizenship for any of the 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country, unlike the bipartisan legislation passed by the Senate in June.

What ya'll fail to take into consideration is that the majority of voters want the reform done. I know that you don't want it but others do.

"After a vote on Tuesday, the Senate will now officially begin debate on an immigration reform bill. The legislation would strengthen border security and create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants currently in the country.

A Fox News poll released Thursday finds that most voters generally favor those provisions.

The new poll shows 81 percent of voters want to strengthen border security and stop additional illegal entry into the country.

In addition, 74 percent favor finding a way for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in the country to remain -- and eventually become citizens -- if they meet certain requirements, such as paying back taxes, learning English and passing a background check."

Polls in which they asked anchors how they feel about amnesty doesn't speak for everyone

<quoted text>like I said,it's this country with the massive illegal alien problem.maybe if Mr.slim invested some money in the Mexican economy instead of his precious art collection, there would be less people trying to illegally enter another country to be treated like sh!t.laws will sooner or later be put in place to keep people like the Koch brothers in line.don't see that happening in Mexico, ever.
No, you dumbarse, it's not Carlos Slim's problem that Mexicans are fleeing north to America. They are fleeing because of the violence associated with the illegal drug trade that Americans finance with their insatiable need for it. Plus the illegal flow of guns south from America. Solve those 2 problems and the illegal immigration problem will decline, or even cease.

I believe that the Republican party will have to pass reform that both legalizes as well as secures our borders and enforces e-verify. If they stone wall on this one the party will be in jeopardy of losing the House, Presidency and not getting them back for a very long time. jmo

But they do want the reform. That isn't the only poll that shows the same thing. It's wanted and it's also needed.

More reason that we need to pass immigration reform. We need to know whoes here and having become legal that they don't break the law. If they do they still can be deported. Anyone that did commit a crime and is illegal is being deported. Unless we pass the reform that has increased border patrol officers, money, airial survaillance we will just continue to have those criminals come back in.

I think people are sick of democrats.i think the republicans are a lot smarter than democrats.so just think about this,it could take years for the path right.all im going to say is you are not legal till you are legal.you can read between the lines or dont.just saying.what about the people that cant apply for the path, they have to be deported right.john boehner hes a lot smarter than he acts.he know hispanics will never vote for the white men.americans are very smart.i dont think we should let these people have a path.we should help them get rid of the cartels and send them back.you should fight for your country,as you fight to stay in this country, which you have no right to do.you are full of crap.so are your kids.

Oh and I must say that a path is much better than amnesty for all the border crossers, but I hope that they should understand that if this is to pass and become law, after the borders are secure.that if you want to cross the border meaning the new 30million who will try to get across should expect to do so at their own risk.coz at the end of the day this is america, not mexico.i expect many of the people should they get a path, will end up being arrested or deported.why coz thats just how you people roll.i really I see nothing good coming out of any of this.you will never be true americans.why because you didnt work for it.you cheated.you didnt wait on line, like others.but the main reason is you dont want to be american you want to take over america.look at hoe you people act.we are so on to you.
