Incredible.

These morons criticized Obama in 2008 when he said he would go in to Pakistan without their permission to get bin Laden. In 2008 they claimed that it would be a terrible thing to violate Pakistan's sovereignty. They claimed that bin Laden wasn't important.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if that raid had failed these losers would be politicizing it from now until November. The bottom line is neither Bush, McCain nor Romney would have had the balls to go in there take bin Laden out.

Because of Obama bin Laden is dead and GM is alive.

Hypocritical election-cycle whining by right wingers and Repubs. Needless to say, using 9/11 to justify an entire war in Iraq was perfectly fine with most of these same folks. And I well recall political attacks on Kerry by Bush's people who implied in almost exactly the same way that Kerry didn't 'have what it took to make the tough decisions.'

Bottom line: Obama got bin Laden. Republicans HATE him for it, too.

We can all feel safe now that Bin Laden is dead, right? It really makes a big difference to world peace, now does it? We can stand down on all the wars, our soldiers can come home, and everything in the USA is all better, now that Bin Laden is "officially" dead.

*yawn*

If that's Obama's best political shot in getting re-elected, he's toast.

Amazing that Obama is taking all the credit for Bin Laden but realistically what else can he hang his hat on. Amazing that Obama has not mentioned Admiral McRaven that was the one in charge of the entire operation. Obama simply was indecisive over the matter until grown ups stepped up to the plate and push him. Obama had no choice considering he was the child in the room.
This trail balloon of the KEY to his re election just exploded in his face and now they are floundering like the dead smelly fish that he is.

Most Americans feel safer now that he's dead, yes. Many of us wish our soldiers WOULD come home and that we'd stop interfering in Middle Eastern affairs, certainly.

Obama will likely be re-elected, since he's managed to turn the economy around, kill bin Laden, pass a health-care bill, and straighten out many of the problems of the Bush era. That and he's running against an empty suit named "Romney," of course...:)

Sheer, baseless nonsense. Cite proof to support this, if you can.

Realist - what kind of fantasy world do you live in? Do you seriously believe that anyone other than the President had the final go/no go say on bin Laden? The majority of Obama's advisers advised against it because if it had failed he would have looked like Carter. Obama did the right thing and went for it. He deserves all the credit for killing bin Laden. Bush sure as hell doesn't deserve any. He said that he didn't care about him after about 2002 or 2003. Both McCain and Romney stated publicly in 2008 and that wouldn't have gone into Pakistan without Pakistani permission. How well do you think that would have worked?

"Turn the economy around"? In what direction? Backwards?

What if the Supreme Court rules against ObamaCare?

What "problems" did he actually "straighten out" from the Bush era? What about the new messes he created all on his own?

I think our current President qualifies as an "empty suit" and will not be re-elected (assuming we have an HONEST election"

Hey Prof, If I can goggle Admiral McRaven and Bin Laden and find the info of his decision making, surely you can also. Give it a try and then give your opinion of why Obama was so afraid to make the decision. Guess if it failed, he had a scapegoat in the military he could blame.

You guys are so unbelieveable. Obama hands you the ball and you run with it. Why not do your own research to determine the small part that Obama had in the process? He would have hung Admiral McRaven out to dry if Bin Laden had not been killed.
You dudes are so dependent on Liberal milk that you are prepared to sell your own souls to keep the tit close by.

I don't read the Murdoch St. Journal, but feel free to indicate where it supports this claim by the other poster:

"Obama simply was indecisive over the matter until grown ups stepped up to the plate and push him. Obama had no choice considering he was the child in the room."

C'mon. We both know that's nonsense. Just like we know that comparing a single raid on a single dangerous individual isn't the same as the Civil War or WWII.

Don't be so childish. From the perspective of Commander-in-Chief, Obama "got" bin Laden. He did this by pushing his SecDef to in turn push others to find and eliminate the terrorist leader.

No one's saying he took part in the raid, or diminishing the achievements of the men who DID.

so saying I, me or my 7 times in a couple of sentences is not diminishing the achievements of the men who did?

He had to be pretty amazing to get himself elcted President as a black man, given the amount of white racism still festering in this country.
