It is good to see that the action is taken to remove Mr. Rumsfeld. Also, majority of the general public is not aware of Mr. Robert Gates and his credentials. He may not bring new fresh ideas as he will continue with current policy as per joint statement yesterday.
From my prespective, it would not be a bad idea for democrats to nominate Republican Senator John McCain as he seems like independent thinker and will change the course in IRAQ.(if this is possible constitutionally).

Rummy is a wiley fox. He has reached his self interest goals and now netly side steps further blame, leaving the chaos to others. He has Nato entrenched to their own failure in Afghanistan and now he has bailed out, he leaves some other idiot in the US to fill his post ans scramble unsuccessfully to a any better than he has done so far. Meanwhile, the Haliburton subsidiaries and parent company he is invested in has done exceedingly well financially and he retires on a lovely pension with benefits paid for by the American people. I think he has done an excellent job at fleecing us for his own interest. Hooray for him! Let him hear it.
