I crushed my head inside the juke box looking for lyrics that rhymed with bomb bomb Syria. I still have a Helter Skelter label stuck to my forehead.

I just loved seeing my bombs explode over Hanoi. They looked like little blossoming rose petals from the distance. Arizona is so dry and barren. Can't you just let an old man enjoy a few more roses in his life to cheer him up?

Objection. There was nothing wrong with defending the free people of South Vietnam from Communist terrorist monsters.

Obama has chosen to side with terrorist monsters of all stripes, setting the War on Terror back before Bush, abandoning freedom loving people across the Middle East.

Over 50 thousand dead Americans would disagree with you on Vietnam. That war was a colossal waste of young American lives and US taxpayer's money.

In Vietnam the "bad" guys won and there is peace an freedom second to none , US is bust'in its arse to be friends with the highly respected gentlemen of Vietnam.
Adverse to that the "good " guys won in the Korean Peninsula , and there is always the anxiety of war.
Probably the Jew Eisenhower gave a bum steer on both counts.

You're most likely thinking of Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge, which the US indirectly supported and North Vietnam opposed. A far nastier bunch than the Vietnamese, by any measure.

these both brainless guys have another values. They think that the only way of reducing weapon is using it in a battle just like they have done it with napalm in Vietnam.

Most all of those 55 Thousand knew they were fighting a just cause. The war was lost at home, where politicians like the traitor Kerry undermined our efforts with your type of stupid propaganda and dope. The Communists had introduced terror at every level in the South. According to those like you, who misread history, the human rights of mankind are second to the victory of terror. I thought, with your insight into the awfulness of terror in Syria, you'd not have abandoned that principle. Apparently, you too side with the terror of the green scarves, the Mujaheddin, who should also all meet their f'n god ASAP.

What f-g just cause? Elections called for unification, then we said, sorry - democracy, not for you. Then all Washington spouted all day long is China this, China that, China will take over southeast asia - then as soon as the last US troops left, Vietnam fought a border war with China. We'd have know that, had anyone had their heads screwed on straight.

Same thing happened with Chile. We aided and abetted a murdering thug to throw out a democratically elected socialist, then the murdering thug dies, elections are held and a socialist wins. Big f-g deal. Same thing happened in Iran in the '53 coup. Wasn't even socialism, was a Mayor Bloomberg style president that BP couldn't stand. Now, look at the end result!! What the f_k, anyway? The Saudis nationalized Aramco, but they were fanatical wahabis, so we could live with them...look where that got the world.

Is socialism for me? Hell no. I'm a die-hard capitalist - but you know what? the world doesn't collapse if a few are elected in third world countries we have no business in anyway.

It's guys like you that want to intervene first, then never ask any questions, before, after or ever, just regurgitate some bullshit you heard from Washington's equivalent to Mao's little red book. Basically, your mindset is that of an old stalinist bolshevik. They're gone but you're still around. Kick the bucket, for God's sake and stop annoying the world.

Vietnam...hah, in hindsight...dumbest war we every sucked ourselves in to.

Tell it to JFK, who defended the undefended in South Vietnam. You've fallen for the same Communist propaganda that undermined us here at home with lies, dope and cowardice. It's shows to Goya with the false memes repeated so often, that even those with half a brain believe them.

Take your dishonoring of JFK, the fight against Communist tyranny and the thousands of soldiers dead and injured... shove it where the sun don't shine. You've got everything wrong. Showing you how you are wrong here would take tomes. Hopefully, there will come a day you'll have the character to admit it. No wonder the country is full of cowardice, dope, dissension and depravity... with young bucks so foolish to accept the Communist drivel castrating our youth back then. Tell you crap to the Hmong and the Catholics slaughtered by the thousands because people like you rationalized your cowardice with long-winded fakery of fervor for a worthless, empty cause.

I give credit where it is due. The only smart thing Obama has done recently was to talk directly to the newly elected president of Iran. I hope the idea of bombing Iran to appease israel is now off the table.

Yeah, all those tens of thousands of civilians, school teachers, hamlet leaders tortured and dead from Communist terrorism were "puppets." Idiot. We got rid of millions of the terrorists, burnt them up crispy, all of them NVA and NLF. If it weren't for Communist terrorist supporting cowards like yourself, all those "puppets" wouldn't have had to flee the tyranny and camps of those lovely Commies.
Prick.

1955: Vietnamese Prime Minister Wins Referendum, More Votes Cast than There Are Voters

The US helps arrange a national referendum between Vietnamese Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem and Emperor Bao Dai. Diem “wins” 98.2 percent of the vote. Interestingly, a total of 605,000 votes are cast despite there being only 405,000 registered voters.[Herring, 1986, pp. 55]

July 1956: South Vietnamese President Blocks Unifying Elections

South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem, backed by the US, successfully blocks the unifying elections that had been set by the 1954 Geneva Accords, which the US refused to sign (see 1954). It is widely believed that Ho Chi Minh would have easily carried the elections (see 1954). This would have been an unacceptable outcome for the US.

November 1963: South Vietnamese Policies Cause Concern in US

The policies of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem create concern in Washington when Diem’s government intensifies its repression of the Buddhists and clamps down on the press. Also worrisome to his US backers are rumors that he is considering unification with the North.[Herring, 1986, pp. 96; National Security Archives, 11/5/2003] When the Kennedy administration learns that a group of South Vietnamese generals are planning a [second] coup attempt, the decision is made to provide them with support.

1973 -- Hanoi announces to Beijing its intentions to negotiate contracts with foreign firms for the exploration of oil in the Gulf of Tonkin, part of the South China Sea. The disputed islands in the South China Sea assume importance only after it is disclosed that they are near the potential sites of substantial offshore oil deposits.

January 1974 -- Chinese military units seize islands in the Paracels occupied by South Vietnamese armed forces, and Beijing claims sovereignty over the Spratlys.

Spring 1975 -- South Vietnam occupies part of the Spratly Islands.

1976 -- North and South Vietnam unify.

February to March 1979 -- In the Sino-Vietnamese Border War, China launches the offensive in response to Vietnam's invasion and occupation of Cambodia, which ends the reign of the China-backed Khmer Rouge. This becomes China's largest military operation since the Korean War.

1985 -- Throughout most of 1985 and into the early months of 1986, Vietnam's border provinces are subject to intense artillery and mortar shelling. China issues vague threats to Vietnam of a "second lesson" over the stalemate with Cambodia.

1988 -- China and Vietnam fight a naval battle just off the Spratly Islands. 70 Vietnamese sailors are killed.

November 1991 -- China and Vietnam normalize relations after more than a decade of hostility.
