"Bash America" becoming the brand of the GOP?

It can and should be debated if Obama's record of accomplishments after only nine months in office merit the prize. But with today's news, will the conservative talk fest pundits hit the mark of what some progressive critics suggest has become full-fledged America bashing?

These right wing conservatives demonstrate by their words & actions they really hate America.

They talk a good patriotism game, but what they really love is their memory of America as it was around 1950, when white males called all the shots, segregation and Jim Crow were strong, John Wayne was a cultural icon, and Asia, Africa, and Europe were distant lands.

But the world has changed; racism and racists are no longer in the mainstream, women participate in the workplace and marketplace as never before, immigrants have moved here from more nations than Europe, bringing their religions & cultures to the US. John Wayne, Bob Hope, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan are long gone. Most important, technology makes it possible to communicate and do business with most anybody, anywhere on the globe.

Many conservatives cling to the past and resist the inevitable changes in our world. America was a 20th Century superpower, the most powerful nation on the planet. But now, China and India are rising, and the US is becoming one player among many, no longer THE power. Nations are cooperating with one another and will do so more and more to do commerce and coexist on the globe.

In their naivety and anger, they attack the President as if they can slow the trends with their rage and their arrogance. Barack Obama is not the cause of the change they fear, he merely sees it and acts in the best interests of the nation within the context of present day, real world reality.

I remember those days. It was when men were men and people loved freedom and fought for their country. It was when religion was a good thing and people respected the government. It was when a dollar was worth something and it was before communists controled the Democrat party. Obama has really changed things.
