I highly doubt that thought ever occurred to them or any other informed, educated, intelligent, decent, thinking reader of that nonsense.

Have you forgotten WHO controls the Senate? Obama does not need the approval of Congress for this strike. He could have sold this on national security issues saying AQ could get or could have some of Assad's WMD's. BUT he flinched AND THE WHOLE WORLD SAY IT!!

Oblamer campaigned as the anti-war candidate,he even won a peace prize for his performance.
They gave him his '1st Place Participation award' not for performance, but because they too fell for his 'heartfelt' speeches about what he promised he'd do. Not we know that was pure Chicago political bullshit. I'm guessing they regret it now, as do many of us. Let the war begin! Wish I would have bought the stocks his 'advisors' bought 3 months ago. Ah, the rich get richer and the working person pays for another war.

The Rebels gassed those women, and children, then took pictures of them dying to send to gullible Americans to fish them into arming them in their sectarian conflict. We have no leaders so we jumped right on their bandwagon. Now the people, through their Congressmen are saying no way, Jose!! Obama is making a speech Tuesday to make his case for war. What if no one turns it on?

I gave you a name, and name of the Rebel unit he serves in in an earlier post. I can't afford to take you to raise. Look it up yourself.

Not if he had sold the attack as a way to degrade Assad's WMD program so it does not fall into the hands of AQ not the death of 1400 Syrians! We need to worry about OUR nations survival! I don't give a f*ck about Syria's!

If Assad had the WMDs he would have used them before this, so he has no motive. The rebels, AlQaeda, and the Brotherhood do have a motive, and had a plan to draw the stupid Americans into their war so they could get new weapons. They needed a massive attack, a shocking attack. What would shock Americans more then a gas attack on women, and children? Nothing. Now the silly Russians, and Chinese are standing between them, and Obama. Putin wins.

The whole world wins. We are talking potential World War III. Nobody wants to risk that except Obama and now Hitlery. Putin has offered ideas on how to end this peacefully. Where are Obama's proposals? Does Obama really prefer to blow the world up to finding a reasonable solution? It looks like it. And Congress is clearly not ready to go along with it. Thank GOD for the wisdom of the founding fathers who gave Congress the power to make war, not the president or any other one man, good or bad.

That's one scenario. More likely, Assad thought he could get away with it again. It's not as if this is the first time he did it. Back in June Obama promised support to the rebels in retaliation for Assad's gas attack then.
They're still waiting for that support. Now, he threatens an unbelievably small attack of one or two days (his administration's own words). After how long a delay for Assad to prepare?

Now, Assad is offering Obama a chance to maintain what little credibility he has left by proffering a proposal to let the UN manage his chemical weapons. Isn't that enough?

Doesn't it bother you that the President of the United States is backing down to the Russian President? Don't get me wrong I didn't want to defend Al Qaeda, and the Muslim Brotherhood, but it is embarrassing to see America's President reduced to an underling of Putin's.

Even if that were true -- and today I'm not sure that it is -- it would be much less embarrassing than leading us (everyone!) into an illegal war. It is not about saving Obama's credibility. The American people are 2-1 against action in Syria. It would be most embarrassing if the oldest democracy on Earth ignored the will of it's people.

in reality it is Putin backing down from the US. our threat of force still stands, he is trying to take weapons away from his ally to prevent it. he must believe fully that Obama would use force if needed. he backed down because he doesn't want his only ally destroyed by our missiles.
