listen, meathead.

the reason why we went to Vietnam was because the communists went in there first. the usa policy is to respond to aggression by others.

in the last century, there was stalin, mao, and hitler amongst others. and let's not forget the muslims from the ottoman empire.

we responded. no more. no less.

did you know the communists murdered over 100+ MILLION in their failed mission to convert everybody to communism? or that hitler murdered 20 MILLION in his attempt to make the white race supreme over all others? let's not forget the banzai Japanese who murdered 8 MILLION.

...the list goes ON.

The Viet communists were local, they weren't coming from abroad, unlike the French or the US and the reason for USA to get there was the domino theory.

In fact, the US intervention in Vietnam accelerated the domino theory; not only Vietnam became united under communism, but Laos and Kampuchea became communist also!

A complete fiasco for US foreign policy!

How do you justify these actions? Russia invaded their "brothers" in Ukraine, murdering Ukrainians, and stole their land all because Ukrainians wanted a better life for themselves.
All over a trade deal.
NATO and "international community" parted Yugoslavia in the name of local "peoples' will".
For the same reason, I don't see why there shouln't be local referendums to ask who want to belong to Ukrain and who wants to belong to Russia.

NATO and the US are afraid the result of the vote may not meet their expectation.

At least 40% of people in Ukraine occupying up to 1/3 of the territory would vote to stick with Russia.

NATO and the US want the whole cake!!

Clearly that isn't true, the most anyone has ever reported seeing in support of those pro-russian protesters are a thousand at best.
I wasn't aware that if a thousand people are for joining Russia in regions that number in the millions means the majority. Even those that live in those cities think the protesters are jokes.
You are very correct. It is the vocal few implanted by Russia that is making the noise. They have recruited proMoscow Ukranians that are easily influenced by promises of riches and they sign up but that is the reason Ukraine has not offered a referendum nor has the proMoscow protestors written up a referendum for presentation to the East Ukraine, they know they do not have enough support but more importantly they were not after it, their purpose was to create the myth that Russians were in harms way in Ukraine and big ole Putin will come to the rescue and Ukraine will not fire a shot, BUT oops, they misjudged Ukraine and it is a game changer.

Crimea is attached to Ukraine by land, not to Russia. The slavic settlers in Ukraine were ethnic Ukrainians ( yes it was the Russian empire in the 1800s,duh, so they were called russians then) and they walked over to Crimea. Crimea is not attached to Russia by land. In any event all the infrastructure in Crimea is provided by Ukraine since 1954 ( gas , water, electricity. Get your facts correct, Putin lover.... Chrissie boy. If Russia wants to buy Crimea for 5 trillion dollars , then, they should pay for it. They cannot steal it in breach of international law.

The only country trying to force a quick vote is Russia, with influence by their soldiers, just like Crimea so say again how Nato and US are afraid the vote will go.

and as far as 40% of Ukraine being Russian or Russian descent, is BS. They have already done these surveys and the results were very unanimous stay in Ukraine and make some changes but Russia was not happy with that.

The Viet communists formed their own provisional government too. They held elections and appointed ministers to govern South Vietnam.

After North Vietnam violated the Paris Peace Accords they dismantled the provisional government and replaced it with their own.

The "local" VC government was overthrown by the North Vietnamese, not the US.

For those higher on the food chain than pond scum - the Domino Theory included Thailand and Malaya, neither of which fell.

It was intended to prevent what the Japanese had done in WW2; seize control of the eastern entries to the Indian Ocean - which the Russians were attempting to do in conjunction with their attempt to control the Suez Canal and their move in Afghanistan.

The Russians were attempting to seize control of the Indian Ocean, and the success of the Domino Theory stopped them cold.

A fiasco so great that it brought about the collapse of the Soviet Union.
