I had heard it covered. The problem is the FEC is missing too many members for a Quorum needed to implement any enforcement action.

McCain will probably get a free ride until the election because of that...

Well said.
How far is the VA Hospital in Chicago from Obama? When was the last time he visited our injured soldiers?

Where is the press in all this? We used to have reporters. Now the press seems mostly interested in selling advertising. They just seem to print whatever they are presented, mostly blood and gore, only family and popularity information on candidates. the press and the candidates are both very quiet about real issues.

The tabloids are the only ones that seek information, but they are only interested in scandals.

So, why don't we put in law that the candidates must accept public money financing only.
Each one gets a check for $xxxxxx ($25 million for example) and that is all he can spend.
The process would be fair, no corporate money to corrupt the process and call in IOU favors later.
The only problem is, the same people that would have to accept that are the same ones we put in power, and they don't care to change the status quo.
Once the wormhole of corruption is open, everyone gets sucked in and there is no way to turn it off.
What was the matter with the way it was? These new laws are greatly increasing the election spending, not reducing spending as advertised. The new laws ban freedom of speech, and allow only money to talk.

No-Bama has ZERO chance of winning the General Election in November. But you far-Left, rabid Anti-Bush nitwits never seem to learn that Presidential General Elections are entirely different from your Socialist Party primaries.

Excelsior. Blame high gas prices on the President. You Far-Left loons really DO live in a parallel Universe, don't you?
Get outside of the U.S. much?? Sport, other industrialized countries pay 2 -3X more than Americans per liter of gas. It is a REAL simple supply and demand calculus.
But I'm sure you're a lot more comfortable using gas prices as a capsule to dump from your rabid, Anti-Bush PEZ-dispenser. It certainly follows with your predictable and feeble attempts to tag the GOP with Katrina, the Global Warming Hoax, worldwide famine, a U.S. Conspiracy to bring-down the World Trade Center towers, etc.
You far-Left Whack Jobs, and your 2 lunatic, Communist Presidential candidates, will suffer the most embarrassing landslide loss this November since your George McGovern.
Go fill your tank with George's $4.50 a gallon gas. And it ain't McGovern. Neonut nitwit.

Thank you so much for the analysis. I had no idea that I voted for Obama because I hate Bush. All this time I thought it was based on studying the issues on the 3 websites and listening to the candidates speak. You are wrong that I hate Bush, despise is a better word. I would rather be a liberal Democrat any day than a hateful whatever you are. Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Wow, someone that thinks McCain will win.

Maybe your should read this article first:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0508/103...

Maybe I should give you the highlights:

"The Republican defeat in Tuesday’s special election in Mississippi, in a deeply conservative district where, in an average year, Democrats cannot even compete, was a clear sign that the GOP has the political equivalent of cancer that has spread throughout the body. Many House GOP operatives are privately predicting that the party could easily lose up to 20 seats this fall."

"Combined with the 30 seats that the GOP lost in 2006, that would leave the party facing a 70-vote deficit against Democrats in the House — a state of powerlessness reminiscent of Republicans’ long wilderness years in the 1960s and ’70s."

“The political atmosphere facing House Republicans this November is the worst since Watergate and is far more toxic than the fall of 2006, when we lost 30 seats (and our majority) and came within a couple of percentage points of losing another 15 seats,” Rep. Tom Davis, a moderate Northern Virginia Republican who previously headed the National Republican Congressional Committee, wrote in a 20-page memo to colleagues.

Former Rep. Mickey Edwards, an Oklahoma Republican, said:“I don’t know that I have seen a year like this, ever. The general attitude toward Republicans is so bad nationally.”

If you are waiting for the Republican victory this fall, you are going to be waiting a very long time...
