You tell me what happens when only half the able-bodied Americans contribute to the tax base with an administration with a flare for the elite when it comes to out of control spending.
Poverty/food stamp problem came out of a little recession we had a couple years back. You may remember it.

ALL AMERICANS PAY TAXES. Your side just pretends that 40-odd percent of people PAYING NO NET INCOME TAX means that they're "not contributing." You do this because you're snobbish elitists whining about poverty and joblessness, but unwililng to do a damn thing about them.

Spending isn't "out of control" either, but hey, why would you start telling the truth NOW, huh?:)

It's sad that that's your life, but at least you admit you're a troll. Maybe someday a cure will emerge...:)

I believe the republicants like Cantor are using the pizza analogy and whether it is the box or not that needs changing.

The best part of the 2012 Election is that we got the evangelicals to vote for a Mormon… and he still lost. You right-wing Christians are going to Hell for supporting a Mormon. I am still celebrating that great victory when ‘We the People’ re-elected President Obama in spite of high unemployment a stagnant economy. There was no way that you fools should have lost… but then again you should never bet against Black, LOL!
I truly believe that the moment President Obama single-handedly found and killed Osama bin Laden was the moment he sealed the deal for his re-election. How in the world could the American people not re-elect the President who brought Bin Laden to justice?

<quoted text>yes, but only half or so pay income taxes.
So what?

Why are income taxes any more imporant than sales taxes or gas taxes or the myriad of other taxes the poor pay?

Just because the wealthy say so?

Its a double negative when welfare recipients use tax dollars to pay sales tax.
Kinda like borrowing money from China to award as foreign aid.
How do you know they are using their welfare money to pay sales tax?

They could just as easily be using their earned income to pay the sales tax and using their welfare money only for non-taxable items like food.

Either way, they're still paying taxes.

IRS taxes? Those, and gasoline taxes, are the main ones that make it to DC to be spent...local sales taxes, booze taxes, cigarette taxes mostly go to the local govt.
Taxes are taxes.

Everyone pays.

I think that's exactly the problem. The super wealthy have these people believing the tax result that applies to them is the same as theirs. Got them protecting tax breaks for people who earn 20 Million while they themselves end up paying more on everything else to support that rate for the top.

Really a sad state of affairs when we American battle each other on how the 'rich' is taxing us.

What right do they have?(except all the money)

When 'we' were 'real' Americans we protested and got things done now all we do is get on these blogs and go after each other. Dumb.

Corporate America has us all by balls!!

Fighting among ourselves!!!

What a waste!
