Inmate's lawyers ask Perry to halt Texas execution
Duane Buck's case is one of six convictions that then-Texas Attorney General John Cornyn - a political ally of Perry who is now a Republican U.S. senator - reviewed in 2000 and said needed to be reopened because of the racially charged statements made during the sentencing phase of the trial.

Makes you really wonder if the writer bothered to read the appeals and the decisions in this case? The is a reason other than race as to why the appeals have failed. Read them and see.

Once again it really makes you wonder if the Supreme Court even bothered to read the previous appeals and decisions? They had earlier ruled or affirmed the same arguements that were presented he last couple of times. The comments about race were brought up by a defense witness and brought up originally by the defense attorney. The comment was clarified by the prosecution (which is taken out of context).
Now we have to wait (and pay the lawyers) for several more months or years until the SC rules, the more appeals will follow. All of that for an admitted, cold-blooded murderer who was caught leaving the scene of the murders and bragged about it.
