It's retirement center for O-5 through 0-7. That's why 500 mil of the 700 mil go to it's contractors. Gates is on firm ground.

6000 jobs in that area is going to cripple it. Especially being that they are the top of the middle class(100k-150k). The bad thing is that it's a republican cut. Can't sell conservatism without the cuts. 1 billion saved though. Those 6000 jobs represent 18,000-25,000 people voting differently.

Has it occurred to anyone that the reason for the Joint Forces Command closure it due to Governor McDonnell opposing the Health Care Reform Bill? Our great "puppet master", Mr. O and his cronies are behind this. No one dares to go against Obama without retribution.

Virginia is trying to save jfcomm in order to save jobs. Thats wrong!!! Jobs are not whats important. Do whats best for the country not whats helpfull for a specific region.

The last person to sign off on the recommendation is the president. But why is it so hard to accept that this is a republican conservative venture. State such as Virginia try so hard to seem as if they are supporting their citizens. Take away the fed, reduce spending in the fed and on and on. Then the cuts start to happen and at best, they simply hope that the cut happens in another state. mcDonnell cut 2 million off of Va's budget; the dod is proposing to cut 1 billion. That's savings.
Give the people exactly what they ask for, nothing less. Sure it will cripple 6-7 surrounding cities in Va and before you know it, Northern Virginia will separate from the rest of Va because they are tired of contributing to something and not getting back, what they have put in. Due to the fact that the rest of Va isn't pulling their weight.
McDonnell has been anti-conservative since he implemented longer sentences for drugs, dogfighting and a number of other crimes that used to carry 1-5 year sentences.....it costs 1 million dollars to care for a life sentenced inmate. How many does Va have? 8,938. Which comes to almost 9 billion dollars. And we are somehow comfortable with this. Furthermore, we have 30-50,000 felons that we don't want to employ but we won't restore their rights, in order, for them to live a productive life. Can we ask for the things that we ask for and not pay the costs? Republican or Democratic, there are no political differences; just a bunch a lawyers that recognize an easy job that doesn't require much effort. if you make an effort, it is career suicide. America is filled with a bunch of bi-polar citizens that cannot and will not understand the grounds of group complaint. No president has ever been the problem, it's the millions of people that voice their opinions. There should be a litmus test for potential voters.

ooh rah! The DOD is trying to cut 100 billion, that's just 1 billion. Can't fault the administration for accommodating the people's request, "less government" They just didn't know what it meant. Shaking my head.....:) Vote for Tea Party candidates, the cuts will keep on rolling, until the states really become fiscally conservative because there won't be 250 million to come from the fed to pay medicare for va residents, there won't be 1.9 billion that rightfully belongs to the fed, sitting in VDOT bank accounts, there won't be food stamps for the underemployed, there won't be fed credits for small businesses. It's just funny how big business thinks that they can extort the vote in America by refusing to hire a few people because they don't want to pay the proper tax. What? every time they are dissatisfied, they will reduce the companies size and not make as much money....And the people will cry,"give them what they want!" The government is fighting back and it's called cuts! They don't want to pay, we will gladly shut it down.
We're not going to ban guns, you better have the heart to use it because you will need to, soon enough!

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
