the only saving grace is the # of seats picked up by dems in this last election

too bad redistricting turned a loss into a majority for the party of no

Yeah let's just agree to everything because it's the easy way out. That's logical.

Agreed it wasn't a complete solution, because both sides wasted the time between the enactment of the fiscal cliff deal and now.

Instead of doing the hard work of building the required solution, they politicians ducked for cover to campaign for re-election.

And we re-elected our own contributors to that gridlock, rewarding them for ignoring their job.

It's the ultimate case of getting the government we deserve rather than the government we want. It's always a different location's politician that's at fault so we re-elect our own representatives. All I can hope for is that we eventually learn that the only way to get politicians to put governing ahead of re-election is to throw the bums out. ALL of the incumbents, they apparently can't negotiate in good faith, even within their own parties.

better than agreeing on nothing

This congress (with an 11% public approval rating) passed 219 bills in 2012, the least number since the 1940's, and many they managed to pass (when 'working') were for important issues like post office names and commemorative coins. Thanks teaparty/gop!

GW wasted much more taxpayer money with his regular jaunts to TX on air force 1, ran our country into debt with two unpaid wars, borrowed more money to pay for medicare part D and cut taxes across the board to seal the deal.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
