Less Jet Noise

All you super hot jet jockeys need to make noise somewhere else. Fly in circles over the ocean, not the city. A little less noisy arrogance from Command at Langley AFB would help.

Jet noise is not the sound of freedom. It's the sound of pollution. The Raptor program would have more support if the fly-boys would have a little more respect and consideration for the people who pay for their billion-dollar noisemakers.

Slow down production of the aircraft carrier? Don't you think this will hurt the 'middle class' that builds ships and the 'middle class' that works at Langley and the rest of the defense outlets here?

Did you vote for 'change we can believe in? How about losing your job? Did you vote for that?

Obama is a dangerous communist. He is destroying our country from the inside. He lies continuously. He needs to be removed.

How refreshing -- defense spending based on defense needs.

Reap what you sow, Tidewater.

Some of us said that voting yourselves out of jobs wasn't a smart move.

But, whatever. We needed change, right?

Needs? We need the continued production of the Raptor. The Eagles and Falcons are at the end of their service life.

Reevaluating certain military programs to meet the current range of threats makes sense. However, considering the length of time it takes to build and certify a new carrier or aircraft (minimum of 10 years), we will still have to have a program to produce modern (and more expensive) weapons systems.

Langley has been their since 1917. The area around the Air Field was infringed on by people building homes and businesses. As far as noise; you don't have to live there. It is still a free Country for the moment.

You'll miss that sound one day when you loose all of your freedom to the Islamic extremist who are focused on taking this country out.

I'll keep my guns, I'll keep my freedom, you can keep your CHANGE!

I'm sorry that the sound of the Fighter jets that keep you free is bothering you so much. And the income spend by the military is propping you city's budgets and businesses up with over billion dollars a years in revenue and taxes. If I didn't live in the area I love to see them pull out of your city and watch the financial meltdown that would ensue.

Smart move. We already have 187 F-22's in the pipeline. Do we really need 243 F-22's? The US reputation in air-to-air combat is clear. If you attempt to engage, its over. So, now Gates will increase unmanned predators that can be equipped with missiles for air-to-ground attacks. Also, an aircraft carrier can last 50-60 years. Pushing 1-2 of them back a few years will not hurt national security. Lastly, Langley has been around since 1917 when most of Hampton was marsk land. If you CHOSE To live where jets fly, who is the fool. Its like living on the beach and complaining about all the sand coming into the house. Duh!

ďAt that time Michael, the archangel&#652 79; who stands guard over your nation, will arise. Then there will be a time of anguish greater than any since nations first came into existence. But at that time every one of your people whose name is written in the book will be rescued. Many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting disgrace."

Cutting the raptor program could cost 90,000 jobs. Slowing Carrier production will cost jobs right here in Hampton Roads, and NNSB suppliers. So not only is Obama going to weaken our military, he is weakening our economy.

Yikes, it was only a matter of time before the Obama administration stabbed the region in the back that was a major part of getting them elected. At least Webb is finally acting like a senator from Virginia. I hope he continues his work and doesn't exchange his vote for a Northern Virginia pork project.

Don't blame me, I voted for McCain

It's no secret that military budgets are heavily weighted and that money allocated today isn't spent for several years. A cutback in the right places is a good thing, but its up to the brass to know what is right for the military, not Barney Frank or Pelosi, the commie.

It scares me to think that we would make a major overhaul to the defense system just months into the new administration.

I am not surprised. Next Obama will and is already holding hands with his people the Muslims. He introduced himself the other day in Turkey I believe as Barrack Hussein Obama. First time I remember the "Hussein" being inserted. I believe this tells us who he is.
IMO this man is a danger to our freedoms, a true Marxist/Communist no less.
He's been lying to the American people since he started compaigning, and his support lies with those who don't know better.
