Will there ever come a time when a politician does not feel a need to assure some race-based group of his good intentions? Racism is a part of American politics.

While I can understand Mrs. Allen's reluctance to divulge her true identity for fear of some type of persecution, I cannot agree with her when you consider that her husband probably earned quite a bit of money in his lifetime in sports and came in contact daily with friends and NFL owners who were Jewish. If George's father didn't have the respect of his wife to speak openly of her heritage to their offspring, then shame on both of them.

Raising them as Christians was not a crime. However, keeping George (the politician) from learning of his heritage was foolish when you consider that he ran and was elected Governor of Virginia prior to becoming a Senator. It's not embararssing to know from whence you came, regardless of the circumstances. It's all about how you live your life and while others may disagree, the lie(s) of omission are just as grave as the lie(s) of comission.

Let's just hope Allen beats Webb in 2012.

Although Webb is trying to protect jobs in Virginia, he was inexcusably behind the curve on shutting down the command.

Sen. Warner knew about it months ago. Why didn't he tell Webb?

Time for a change when 2 members of the same party don't communicate with each other.

How can we trust them to work for Virginia or America?

im offended by the rude questioning of this mans parentage. what the hell! this isnt nazi germany ! his parentage has nothing to to with his ability to be govenor . i liken this to saying because someone has dark skin they cannot possibly be govenor or president.

It is totally correct to endorse a candidate or person by the way they execute their duties no matter what position or job they are in.
Let us hope that come 2012 the majority will choose exactly that way.3694

This explanation seems very weak to me -- there have always been Jews in football including some very famous ones. If he knew a month before the question was asked by reporters, it doesn't explain his reactions to my satisfaction.
