Military Healthcare = Military Welfare ? An article in the Wall Street Journal this week cited military health care as "welfare" and urged significantly higher TRICARE fees.

That equation is assinine. It is not worthy of a reply. All who think military benefits are welfare should go to the local welfare recruiting office and sign up for eight years of free benefits.

Really? So I guess that the retirement I draw from the military for my 26 years of service is also welfare? Does that imply that when I was on active duty all those years I was not really working but just collecting a welfare check?

I think the reporter should go to Iraq/Afghanastan and whitness a fire fight. Then board a air evac and watch the nurse(tears streaming down her face) holding the young Marines hand telling him to hold on we are only 2 hours out of Ramstein/Landsthul Army Medical Center knowing he has less than a 50% chance of making it.
