I was glad I had just filled up on barbecue, because the political speaking Saturday afternoon at the 128th annual Fancy Farm Picnic was anything but satisfying.

I attended Fancy Farm for the 4th straight year from Louisville and I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the speeches, particularly the headliners for the Senate race. Neither Lunsford nor McConnell showed much imagination, enthusiasm or cleverness. Two boring plodders both illogically blaming the other for high gas prices. The governor got a little fired up as did Heather Ryan. I don't think it was worth the drive this year.
