I am glad you were able to attend the event. As you no doubt know the event was widely advertised on radio, in newspapers and with signs. It is a free event and ALL are invited to attend. If people choose not to come, how can that be a reflection on the local committee, as you seem to be indicating. AND, you must not have seen everyone there because there were people of color there so be diligent in your research.

Lots of people on here are saying "old, white,", etc. One of the most eloquent speakers was a 16 year old young man from Lynchburg whose great grandfather was one of the founding patrons of the Greene County pig roast.

Maybe people are ignoring the facts.

As an undecided voter, I went to both functions that Day to hear both sides and their respective speakers... You MUST go and hear the oher side just to know what is out there and make sure you are voting correctly.... If you always go for what you think you know or for what you and your family have always done, then you are not exercising your right.... Please pay attention to both sides before deciding on nov. Election! Sometimes the other side may surprise you!
Please tell us more about your reaction to both events.

I beg to differ, however, in your assertion that you are not exercising your right if you vote the way your parents vote or what you think you know...anyone who casts a vote is exercising his/her right.
