Are you so deluded that you forget that the president can't do anything without the approval of congress? Or do you omit this because for the last three years congress has been controlled by demoncrats? Please try to remember that both parties had a hand in creating the current state of affairs.

After it was apparent that the surge was working (even though Barry railed against it) the Obama campaign put a timetable of getting out of Iraq and focusing on the "legimate" war (which we were winning at the time.)

It is evidence, which was previously covered-up by the Bush minions, who refused to testify or release the evidence. The evidence helps lead to more investigation for evidence, and ultimately determining whether a specific law was broken, and by whom, and then, if we are lucky, an indictment against Karl Rove, and maybe Scott Jennings, for obstruction of justice, by intervening to fire U S Attorneys who did not follow partisan political instructions. That is not an exact legal diagnosis, but close enough. Ot will be news of Karl Rove is put on trial, and if he is convicted. Teh news will come years too late, but it will help. Same would be true if news comes about a bout high crimes and misdemaners by Dick Cheney. It will be too late to impeach him, but not to charge him with a specific crime if evidence can be found - probably much has been destroyed, and witnesses are not likely to cooperate. You are kidding, right, when you ask if there is anyone who doesn't know they were crooks? Of course there are! Just as many don't believe the truth about Watergate, which was fully documented at the time, as far as it went. There may be more stuff that is still effectively covered-up about the high crimes and misdemeaners of Nixon and agnew too - maybe even ford, though there is a conspiracy to pronounce him a nice guyh, and not notice that he blocked the investigation that could have found out some of the inforamtion before the 1972 election - the Banking Committee hearings under Wright Patman, which were torpedoed by Ford. An early obstruction of justice, in my view. And the pardon was more suspect than people dared to acknowledge - becasue it violated the decided-upon image of Ford to be projected to teh American public, by the scenario-makers in the media and the political elites.

I think we need to start distinguishing more between the Bush and Cheney factions, especially if Cheney is going to help us, with a book about it. I blame Cheney more than Bush. I also blame another group more than Bush - the group that selected him to be the front-man, by backing him as the gOP nominee, and Rove and others who got him elected, with the "compassionate conservative" false advertizing. I also think we should name the major bad guys in that Administration: Addington, Liddy, Yoo, Gonzales (though he was a wimpy henchman), Card maybe more than we knew, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Feith, and other neo-cons, in or out of government - Perle, Kristol, and the rest. We need to be sophisticated enough to see all the bad things that Ashcroft did, and yet admire his heroic effort when he was ill in his hospital bed, when he stood up to Gonzales and card, who had been sent by Bush (probably Cheney was behind it!) to "persuade" Ashcroft to sign an illegal, unconstitutioal order. The description of this scene by Jim Comey, in Congressional testimony, changed my mind about Ashcroft (whom I had seen jsut as a simplitic bad guy, for the selective prosecution of someone growing medicinal marijuna in California, a state which allowed it!, for example, and other things - for being so wimpy and not telling waht he knew about Clarence being a pornography addict and a harasser of decent persons). And we certainly need to see Jim Comey as a rational, decent man, and a sort of hero, for being so caring and honest. It dos not even hurt to know names of some of the tacky females who worked for Bush, Karen Hughes, one of his Texas pals, Monica goodling at the so-called Justice Department (she had to have immunity before she could testify and tell the truth about her little crimes), and Lotrita Doane at General Services, who was in collusion with Scott Jennings to get people in her department to do favors for Republican Congressmen, to help get them re-elected. The more details we can point to, the better off we are when the right-wing nuts attack someone in the Obama Administration, or some small error, as if it is a big deal. We should support whistleblowers - but in a bi-partisan way. We must challenge, with specifics, the ridiculous right-wing extremist view that the Bush Administration is responsible for nothing bad, and only for anything good! If we do that, then we can afford to take a look at some alleged mistake by the Obama Administration - such as this Americorps Inspector business, and not let the gOP blow it up out of all proportion (much as they did the travel office stuff, and Hillary's role, when the dismissed travel office staff had made itself popular with the press by doing little slightly questionable favors for reporters!I do not insist that the Obama Administration has done nothing wrong, but it has to be shown in comparison with the high crimes and misdemeaners of the Bush-Cheney Administration.
