I think Rosie O'donnell should also run for some democapic seat. All hollywood should run somewhere or volunteer for their favorite organization ACORN. All individudals who play lawyers should defend enemy combatants. What is happening to the world.

I can't wait for this to happen! He'll come out to chants of, "Ed shot his dog!" That is until someone throws a beer bottle at him and he goes through the crowd and grabs the wrong person. Oh, don't bring up domestic abuse around him, go ask his ex-wife Maureen...

I hope he runs and they can bring back the giant billboard of him and Rush standing back-to-back that KFGO used to have up in Fargo. The Twin Cities and national people have no clue about this guy's past....

Funny....I could beat Ed and not many people know me. Liberalism isn't real popular right now, so Ed might want to stick with his gig on air america. How many listeners does he have a day? I'm guessing 1,000?

How about Garafolo? She's another Hollywood liberal that's out of touch with america, so it would be a great choice.

If North Dakota law states that a candidate must have been a resident for the past five years, and Shultz has not, then why is this even a story? This is as pointless as articles that occasionally appear about Schwarzenegger running for president. The first would take a North Dakota state constitutional ammendment, the latter would require an ammendment to the U. S. Constitution--neither one is going to happen.

I agree, Ed's only asperations in government is to become the head of Fish and Wildlife.

Look folks, most want some big changes on the
Hill. I would prefer they all would go.
New faces could help us get back on track,
and they coundn't be as corrupt as what is
there But Please, surely we can do better
than ED. Do we have to elect those who are
the least qualified? THIS time, look those
people over and find out what they are, what
they believe and how they can do the job.
Just get the now residents OUT and put better
and wiser to replace them. Forget politics,
just forget that...Finally pick a person who
will have you deny you voted for them when
asked. We can DO BETTER....

I spent my college days in Fargo/Moorhead at NDSU and Moorhead State, so I know about this clown. I only knew him as the "voice of the Bison" long before his political show. He was so full of himself that the methane level always went up when he entered a room.

I remember the bottle throwing incident as well as the dog shooting. Us students gave him so much crap for it. Whinny little turd never could handle it.

Side note: While at Moorhead State I started a now defunct Club Level Hockey Team. When I was going to the local media to lineup interviews, etc., all the stations were supportive except for Mr. Schultz. He basically told me that because it wasn't NDSU hockey to get lost and quit wasting his time.

Class act all the way around.

Yes, let's have more Ted Stevens from the reasonable right. Then we can all have bridges to nowhere in our backyards. I fail to see where partisan wrangling gets us anywhere ... and I kept my mouth shut during Mr Bush's debacle ... So God Save Us from ill-considered opinions.

Or is Charlie Crist too lib for you, too?

Just when you think you have heard it all this Mr. Ed thing comes up. Is the Democratic Party simply void of any qualified candidates? First it was Minnesota and now North Dakota. What a laughing stock! and they say Palin isn't qualified?

That sounds like Big Eddie...He got into a fight with a woman at a bar in Detroit Lakes a couple years ago too.

I stand corrected though, it was a whiskey bottle, not a beer bottle. I'm still laughing out loud at thought of this guy running...

It must have been great hearing 15,000 people chant, "Ed shot his dog!" at the old Dacotah Field.

Janice has a point but questions remain ... Does Big Ed own property in ND that he has continually paid taxes on? When was the last time he voted there? Residency may be established by the courts. It's been done before. For other weasels.

You can't even take Amtrak to Bismarck anymore so that leaves out Joe Biden, too.

And why, may I ask politely, would you want to be a US Senator from ND? Or even the sole congressman? Norddakota has two senators but isn't even large enough for two house seats.

No direct flights to Bismarck from DC either, no-siree-bob. You could snag an Air Force flight to Minot or Grand Forks but that takes a little doing. Plus, who wants to be set aloft in Minot on a cold, dreary night such as tonight? I've been in Minot when it was 30F below and it wasn't pretty. Neither was I. But the Milky Way was brilliant. I had forgotten how many stars there were from living in town forever. I miss the farm sometimes ... but not when the power's off and it's 30 below.
