I completely agree with the free birth control. My insurance does not cover anything towards my pills and I end up paying 53 something every month. I just had my first child in July and my insurance covered the whole thing. There's something wrong with that, they are willing to pay 23000 dollars to have the baby but will not cover a whole 53 dollars a month, come on isn't there something wrong with that.

Another freebie for someone's pleasure.

Perhaps we ought to give a rebate for those who don't use it.

I think its a great idea!! Then there can be no women saying I didnt plan this baby, but I cant afford birth control. They should make women use it after the 2nd child and they are on public assistance.

One problem.
It is not "free" someone is covering the cost ... that would be every tax payer.

It's not free foolish one. The insurance companies raise their rates on everyone to pay for a Mandate. I should not be paying for your problems.

Doesn't work that way. Have you ever heard this one: "I took the pill, I swear!" Government can't force people to take a pill.

Dear, unwanted babies are an important issue to our families, our country and our world.

Those who are against pro-choice and screech about abortions should be happy about this if it cuts abortion numbers and makes it safer for women (and yes those pesky men) not to get pregnant.

Viagra anyone?

Another program that buys a few more years in a declining culture. There is not an endless stream of financial resources. Many nations are trying mightily to not go to war. War has a way of eliminating people. If designed right most will be what is deemed undesirables. The undesirables are what the people in power pick. Please make laws that cause people, especially the young ones from having sexual relations to avoid getting pregnant and collecting benefits for it paid by the taxpayer. This brings back innocense and a much less cynical outlook on life with a much better attitude on living. The preachers should be pushing this. But they are to busy making millions for their own benefit and then bemoan the fall of us all because of it.

It might be a good investment. Paying a little for birth control now might save us from having to incarcerate unwanted children later.

Please don't think I'm a national socialist but a little government power in this area might be a good thing. Have you strolled down any city street or ridden through a ghetto recently? I tell ya, it's like wave after wave of Far Side characters. The problem with America is that too many unsuccessful people procreate. The result is that the national quality of citizen has plummeted. We need to fix this problem.

Along with Obama's Democrats and the perverts of America ending abstinence education in schools, this is just another way Liberals and their Communist base push promiscuity instead of common sense.

If Health Insurance can cover Viagra, and certain "male enhancement" tools, then Birth Control should absolutely be covered!!! Why is it such a "Man's World" that he can play Santa Claus and have any woman sit on his lap, and he's the only one left with a f-ing smile???? The woman ends up with 15-20 years of work....Old men don't need boners, it turns them into perverts and pedophiles!

It won't cut abortion numbers.
Birth control pills are available at Wal-Mart for $4.00/Month

If people won't take them when they are that cheap they won't take them when they are free.

If birth control pills can be available free for those who want them AND it helps the abortion rate and families in need then they should be available.

I don't know how much birth control is but I would vouch that for some it is too much.

Btw, if the option is free birth control pills vs. an abortion, most women (and yes, dear friend, the burden is always on the woman) would want help with the former.
