There was a reason I posted this...over the weekend my husband and I went to buy a new SUV.

We have always been a Ford brand family, but with the recent news of the woes going on with GM motors we thought we would check out what the Chevy dealership on Clinton Hwy had to offer, possibly they have some good prices, trying to push some vehicles?

2007 Yukon 45000ish miles, leather, sunroof, bells and whistles minus a DVD package and captains chairs. 3rd row does not fold flush in the back, it honestly sticks out like a sore thumb, it's really a wide vehicle to be honest....anyhow it was started priced at 34,000. W - T - F!!!!! A brand spakin new one on the show room floor with like 2 miles was 46,000. Puuuleeease! So I told them, we're buying today, BUT I don't like the price and will not buy at this price. I advised I've seen a 2006 Navigator with DVD package plus what this has at Carmax for 28,000 and the mileage is at 48,000. I also advised I can go over to Ted Russell and get a brand new explorer out the door, tax title and everything for under 33,000 and it will have under 50 miles on it. So what can you do for me to buy this vehicle from you today? I let him know I knew other prices and that I am very willing to go somewhere else and buy....they came back with 31,900...that was as low as they would go....Holy Shat....I left....went to Ted, got a used 2008 Explorer out the door for right under 29,000, and that is with them adding in a sunroof for me! HA!

So I now completely understand why GM is in the hole...if all of their dealerships are like this it's just insane! I refuse to pay that much for a used vehicle...coming back with that price was basically an insult to me and my husband and that is why they didn't sell a vehicle that day.

I just had to rant about that...it kinda ticked me off a bit.

as a die hard chevy man from back in the muscle car era, and i'm totally disgusted by the GM products i see on the road nowadays.

i wouldn't drive their garbage i see going down the highway.
especially their trucks.

that alone would keep me out of their dealerships.

Ah as well to add to the niceness of the Explorer that I got the 3rd row folds flush to the back plus its automatic push button, no crawling in the back to put it up or down vs. the Yukon that was 10,000 more before tax, title and fees. Yup!
