Yes, he was one of the last of the Greatest Generation, those that survived the depression, WW2 and Korea are better people that our current crop of whiners. People today whine about the battery on their Iphone or bad reception on their cable tv, as if that is really important....the Greatest Generation went to bed hungry and never had much of a life until their later years.

My old man, who was a kid during the depression, used to talk of getting a fresh orange for Christmas, and nothing else. His paper route money at age 10 went into the family budget too, and he quit school at age 15 to go to work, out of necessity.

That's why for most of those old vets the 6 months or 2 years or whatever time they spent in the military were the most exciting thing they did in their entire lives. Most of them signed up just for the opportunity to do SOMETHING.

AH listen up...

President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney spend a lot of time on the campaign trail talking about their differences.

One similarity they rarely mention: Neither served in the military.

Nor did their running mates, Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. Itís the first time in 80 years that there are no veterans on either major-party ticket for the White House. The last time it happened, in 1932, Franklin D. Roosevelt defeated Herbert Hoover.

MAGGOT best you Update Yer Fried Half Brain with Facts....Like The Ultimate AH BIDEN...This Cheap Skinflint Bastard..... Biden has no military service. He was rejected by the draft board for medical reasons...what kind I do not know.

Joe Biden dodged 5 draft attempts due to school, until 1968 when he suddenly came down with asthma...from high school.

Now you can stick this up yer Kazoo!

What do they do have to keep track of everyone who died and go grab their votes out of the multitudes of votes???? This makes no sense!! People in general are idiots who make voting "rules", I tell you. He was alive when he voted!!!

There is no way to "unvote" someone who has already voted.

Very true...my old man was in the Navy during WW2 just a couple years, but it was a highlight of his life, and something he was proud of for the next 55 years of his life.

'According to Hawaii state law, if a person votes by mail and dies before the polls close on November 6, that vote, will not count.'
What? Hawaii need to get into the real world. The man voted...period! What other stupid laws does Hawaii have? Will this make the difference in this election?

I know!! This totally makes NO SENSE. In fact I believe its TAMPERING with the voting!! Why bother to vote ahead of time then? Its as bad as saying "if you didn't make it here on election day, too bad!"

If the voter election was true to form, they would find a lot of dead people who voted by absentee ballot and are now dead. Let's see the electoral process go through and eliminate the names of the dead and see what happens. The delay and financial cost would do damage and that is why this issue is avoided. Close down the early election process and see what happens.
