You need to do a little research into past attempts at "fixing" immigration. Neither party ever looked or acted like sane adults. Just look at all the bills between 2005 and 2007, look at who voted yes or no. Blaming one party for past failures is disengenuous, at best, or flatout bullsh!t, to say it plainly.
But of course, this is what politics has come down to in this country today. Our do nothing congress and apparently, many citizens are more focused on bruising the party across the aisle rather than getting anything done.
The simple fact is any failure here will be blamed solely on the Republicans.

Obama & the Dems have been calling for comprehensive immigration reform for the past 4 years and now the ONLY voices in opposition are coming from the GOPasaurs.

Looks like the President has shot down immigration reform again.

so, what has happened since then?
let us do the review...
EVERY single time the democrats have tried to push through "immigration reform" in the last 10 years has failed to be approved.

we the people have spoken time and time again.
we do not want another amnesty. we want the laws to be enforced.
let me repeat..
WE THE PEOPLE WANT OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS ENFORCED!
ASAN GUY: Your name speaks for yourself! You have the nerve to say NO to these people who want their dream to come true and being able to be an asset of this country? You may have

How dare you! So why do you work for a company that hires illegals? That is against the law, and your company is intentionally breaking the law. If the government would simply enforce the law, so that companies like yours could not hire the illegals, they would not come here in the first place.
I don't do the hiring there. Our spineless HR department is scared of lawsuits. IF, and that is the big word here, the government was doing what it was supposed to do since the last amnesty we wouldn't be talking about this except to speed up the process of those doing it the right way. Which imo should be the only ones this country should be helping not pregnant board jumper who dropped their turd here and now demands everything the taxpayer can give. In our case what we are getting closer to no longer being able to do.

Facts are facts. Doesn't matter how recent Asian Guy is, he is still an American citizen the legal way. Why should we bow down to the invading force that was allowed by our government to waltz across our boarders? The loser is you not him. If they were serious about becoming a US citizen they wouldn't have shuffled across the boarder and stealing (it is what it is) what this country offers. Deportation of these turds isn't difficult. Give every buisness that hires them 30 days to fire them or the states start checking their workers and for each they find a 1 million dollar per person per day fine is levied.

Funny, John McCain clearly demonstrated his willingness to support comprehensive immigration based on the need to expand the Republican Party support base to Hispanics.

That translates to the issue being all about votes for the Republican party in some GOP circles, and competition for economic opportunity in other GOP circles.

In either event, in 12 years, 3 election cycles there will be 40 Million Hispanics vote eligible, primarily residing in the South and Southwestern States.

Have any of these outstanding politicians who are endorsing a "path to citizenship" for illegal aliens given a moment's thought to the cost of implementing and monitoring such a program? Read the details. It will cost the legal tax paying citizen billions of dollars to award citizenship to lawbreakers. Stop wasting our time and tax dollars.
No to amnesty.

There is no mistaken McCain's and Rubio's proposal for immigration reform....... it comes down to votes and strictly votes and has nothing to do with the extension of basic Human Right and dignity.

Basically this is the straw that breaks the Camel's back

Base Republicans don't want the competition from Hispanics for Jobs and economic opportunity and the establishment republicans need the cheap labor source that exploiting immigrants offer.

Like wise what are the cost of transporting millions of illegal immigrants across the world to their countries of origin, especially those who have been here since childhood and are educated and productive?

Unless you assume that all illegal immigrants are fruit pickers and uneducated.

It would cost billions. Illegals are already costing us billions, more than $6Billion in fraudulent child care tax credits alone.

Cost of removing them vs cost of keeping them would break even in about 14 months. That seems reason enough to get all gone.

You'll never see a mass movement of 11 Million people from America to all corners of the world..... that's a pipe dream. It's cheaper to repeal the Tax Credit subsidy for families with children they can't afford.

hey. look. I'm all for compassion and all. but not when it jeopardizes me and mine.

you pro-illegals and illegals keep ranting about all the deserving non-citizens who just want to work an honest job in the usa.

I have no problem with allowing limited numbers to come in. which is what our legal system for immigration is there for.

but YOU guys want open borders. YOU want everybody who wants to come in to be allowed to do so.

can you imagine what would happen to the usa if we allowed 50 MILLION in? or even 100 MILLION in?..it's possible that 200 MILLION or MORE would come in if we allowed an open door amnesty.

that is what you pro-illegals and illegals want. that is what you guys keep pushing for. right?

the fact is - the idiots on capitol hill really don't know how many illegals are out there. and they want an amnesty????

there are 6+ BILLION non-citizens out there in the world. if we do another amnesty, there will be a mad rush to come in. who doesn't want free stuff?

no. for the safety of my country, there will not. there should not be another amnesty.

that's how I see it. logically.

we need to enforce current immigration laws, and deport all those who are not here legally. PERIOD.

If it makes you feel better, Chicago and L.A. will suffer by far the worst of it. Another 1 million brought through Family Reunification should kill Chicago even before it drowns in the Pension Tsunami.

Never going to happen.

EVER.

We don't have the manpower nor the money to round up tens of millions of people and deport them to their country of origin.

Not to mention the civil rights violations necessary to search for illegals house by house across America.

At this point all we can do is stop as many from coming in as possible.

if we just enforce our current laws, it will happen.

you see, guy. that's the problem. our current government for the last 20+ years won't enforce the laws.

that's all it takes. just enforcing the laws.

as for civil right violations, we the people make the laws. and if it is in the interest of the people, it will be approved.

frankly, we already have the laws needed in place to deport all the illegals.

have you heard of the "border laws"? "search and seizure laws"? "constitution free zone"?
