David is divorced, so he's already failed at that.

And, yes, gay folks are in the home rasing millions of kids, so that argument of yours is a little weak.

Please tell us all how having parents who are forced by the government to remain unmarried is good for all those kids, and the families as a whole.

Stats would be nice, or a study or two.

Something verifiable.

I agree!

The expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts on 1 Jan 2013 will be demeaning to marriage!

1) Tax cuts enacted by the GOP Congress in 2001 and 2003 set to expire on January 1, 2013
2) Personal income tax rates will rise, including the top rate affecting 2/3rds of small businesses
3) Starting in 2013, itemized deductions and personal exemptions will be phased out
4) Higher taxes will be placed on marriage and family with the return of the “marriage penalty”

Gays in America have equal rights in jobs, housing, and voting, unlike gays in almost any other country on this planet. These are the only important issues, not "gay marriage," which sounds like just an excuse to have a party to me.
No, marriage is a huge issue for a great many gay couples, in the exact same way that it is for straight folks. It's a HUGE issue for my family, as I want every protection possible for them.

Why would you believe otherwise? Make no sense.

All important.

But, gay families already suffer a much higher financial penalty than any married straight couples currently suffers. And those financial penalties are enforced by the same government that extracts all of those nasty taxes from their pockets.

The question of gay marriage is a red herring and totally irrelevant to real civil rights in this country. Marriage is an outdated and increasingly unpopular institution (some would say legal trap), anyway.
Why beat the dead horse of an outmoded institution that is increasingly shunned by a majority of Americans?
Almost all levels of government and society throughout the world severely punish married couples by increasing taxes on married couples above unmarried couples and by invoking other severe penalties against those who irrationally choose marriage. Why choose this sort of self-inflicted punishment?
This is the craziest claptrap you could ever hope to hear.

Marriage confers many more benefits than just this tax implications you are (distortedly) talking about.

Opponents of marriage equality are not interested in doing away with their heterosexual marriages and benefits. Nor are libertarians.

You're merely purveying a nutty talking point. And it's hilarious.

It's Nature's way of telling you something's wrong.
The word "Nazi" comes to mind when I read your posts. Obviously -- obvious as day -- the ANTIGAY are causing these problems. They're not originating with gay people. It's illogical bullshit, and it's pretty disturbing that I have to spell out to you what a child could grasp.

You basically just implied the same logic by which a racist would tell a black person something is "wrong with them" because of their skin color, LIKE RACISTS ACTUALLY DO. But don't let that stop you, ya spectacular train wreck of a disturbing-as-goddamn-hell individual.

Your post is so profoundly disturbing *because* it takes the stance that nothing is wrong with bullying and hating people with whom you differ. Oh, wait, that's right; that's EXACTLY how the antigay act all over the nation on a daily basis.

You seem to also have trouble understanding that every child has a mother and father. Which is why I mentioned the birds and the bees.

I'm all for a child having a Mom and Dad in the home. And I hope they have decent ones, not like some I know of personally. But you conveniently leave out the children living in two parent homes that face abuse every day from "Mommy" or "Daddy".

I have 4 sisters. All married. 3 divorced. 2 of those re-married and the stepfather was as bad as the biological father. In one case I'd even say the mother was whacko. The sisters that raised the best children were the one who is still married and the one who never re-married.

But you have this sort of "Ozzie and Harriet", "Father Knows Best" fixation on family. You don't talk much about the "Leave it to Beaver" or "Dennis the Menace" types of families. And you sure seem opposed to the "Andy Griffith/Mayberry" family model.

We don't insist couples prove fertility in order to marry. Though you did say if a guy gets his girl knocked up getting married is "the right thing" to do. But what if one of them turns out to be a terrible parent?

How many cases has the Justice Department won defending DOMA in the courts all across the country? Hint ZERO is a word. You cannot defend the indefensible. DOMA is inherently unconstitutional.
Philliproy wrote:
The Supreme Court of the United States has not declared DOMA unconsitutional. And, the President of the United States has no legal right to override the Supreme Court and unilaterally declare DOMA unconstitutional.
