Outside groups swayed Md. vote

How exactly is The Club for Growth a special interest group? The "special interest" they promote and protect is the American entrepreneur/taxpayer by opposing and beating wasteful government spenders and high taxers like Gilchrest. "Special interests" are really outfits like Public Campaign or the SEIU which want more government spending and high taxes to pay for what they want.
A definition of a liberal is one who wants to tax me but doesn't want my opinion. |

It appeared that the writer of this intended this to be news story. Unfortunately the Sun turned it into an editorial by writing a speculative headline. How can you justify the headline without evidence that the money from out of state made a significant impact? No evidence means its an opinion peice that should not be on the front page in a real newspaper.

Of course. Bitter Bob Ehrlich brings in outside people to settle a personal grudge against Wayne. Erhlich doesn't care about Maryland or the shore residents.

Sometimes the interests of the entrepreneur are NOT the same as the "taxpayer", when by taxpayer you mean the Americans who are not owners of businesses, who are not the upper management and on the boards of directors of corporations, and who are not the rich who inherited their fortune.
Sometimes the taxpayer WANTS the corporations to be regulated so the corporations don't dump deadly toxic wastes into the watershed where the community's drinking water comes from. Sometimes the taxpayer WANTS the corporations to stop polluting the air that the taxpayer's children breath. The Club for Growth SAYS it is for the taxpayer, but it is ONLY for the big businesses. |

The "netroots" fundraising for Donna Edwards that was driven by Open Left and other liberal websites wasn't taking advantage of any special laws. It was just ordinary contributions by individuals and subject to the same limitations as any other contributions by individuals to candidates.
The Club for Growth is a completely different phenomenon. |

Edwards was also driven by moveon.org , who even had her as a front web page issue during the campaign. Come on Maryland, is this the type of influence you want. Moveon represents higher taxes and more bloated government (in the mold of an O'Malley governership).
Stop move on and their blatant hypocrisy (pretend to be upset about $4 gas and the homeowner "crisis" yet their chief financial backer made 2.4 billion primarily off the backs of middle class America in oil contracts and housing hedging) and elect James to the vacant seat. |
