if he really wanted to avoid a debt crisis he would stop being a partisan hack and suggest allowing ALL the bush tax cuts to expire as planned.
there is a reason those cuts have an expiration date.

Ryan is a devotee of the sociopathic 'philosophy' of drug addled ayn rand. In rand's fantasy world compassion and altruism are vices and greed is a virtue. ryans budget reflects this. He is a pathetic sniveling little man that has no place in a civilized society!

I watched him on C-span this morning and he only proved that he could care less about the average American citizen. He only want to degrade Democrats and take away everything he can from older citizens and students.

idiots on parade.

maybe we should use obama's plan for curbing the debt?

oh, yeah, HE DOESN'T HAVE ONE...
timmy "what taxes" geithner told a congressional meeting less than 3 weeks ago that they have NO PLAN to reign in the debt, nor are they concerned with it.

gotta wonder HOW MUCH debt WOULD be a concern...

but, you morons keep attacking what you don't have an argument OR a solution for...you're ALL very good at it!

We don't have a debt crisis. What we have is
a lack of employment crisis and these Trans-
vaginal Republicans have been virtually 100%
opposed to job creation. The so-called "debt crisis" is just an excuse for doing nothing
but waging culture war with almost the whole Transvaginal Republican Congress pretending to worry about birth control pills. Jeeze, what morons!

Would not even make a dent in the problem, which gets progressively worse every year.

I can answer that, we don't have a revenue problem we have a spending problem.

Unless we make really big cuts in spending, letting the Bush tax cuts expire and adding new taxes will not be enough to address the problem. It is like we are heading for the cliff and the bridge is out, if you slow down what difference does it make if you go off the edge at 5, 30, or 100 miles an hour.

That is BS and you know it, plenty of republicans including president Bush failed to regulate their friends on wall street. However President Clinton did his share of deregulation signed the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which repealed the Glass-Steagall Act, a cornerstone of Depression-era regulation. He also signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, which exempted credit-default swaps from regulation. In 1995 Clinton loosened housing rules by rewriting the Community Reinvestment Act, which put added pressure on banks to lend in low-income neighborhoods.

The fault belongs to a lot of politicians on both sides as well as people in the financial side. But that is no big deal, it is a recession, we are undergoing a correction and we will come out of that. Of course it will be only to fall into the debt trap. Expenditures will rise with the aging baby boomers, interest on the national debt will go up because we will just keep pilling it on and payments on that interest will go up as our credit rating drops because the money we owe gets to be too great a percentage of gdp.

All this will come together like a perfect storm and we no amount of tax hikes on the rich will stop it. The only thing that will work is to reduce spending before market forces do it for us.

That's the stupidest response I hear every time.

Do you know how much we collect in taxes every year? THAT hardly makes a dent either.

Those tax savings sure didn't go into creating jobs. Might as well use it to pay down the debt instead. Every little bit helps.

It's a spending AND revenue problem.

However, the Democrats have come to the table with compromises for spending cuts.

The GOPTEA have not come to the table with compromises for revenue increases. Thank you Grover Norquist.

That is why I hope the next election cycle we kick out any GOPTEA birther who signed Norquist's stupid pledge.
