The Mayor is exactly right. The media does need to do a better job of finding out who is behind the anti-rail group , their real agenda and whose special interests they represent.

That is the problem with petitions. You never really know how your name will be used or abused. I've made it a policy to never sign petitions if I don't know the subject thoroughly.

Hannemann's Pet Project and he's pushing it to the MAX!!!!

Honolulu doesn't need this Rail!

An Elevated Highway for BUSES and EMERGENCY VEHICLES was the best idea and much more cost effective.

Hannemann has to stop being a CRY BABY... "Wah, I want my Rail!"

I don't usually agree with Hannemann, but he's right about rail 1) we need it to relieve the unbearable traffic coming from the West side into town and 2) it's being attacked by some kind of organized, well-funded campaign. Ads in MidWeek cost money. All those people collecting signatures downtown and in Kailua during the middle of the day? Obviously they are being paid because they aren't students, aren't retired and yet are there in the middle of the day.;

I see, his well funded organized PRO rail media blitz is ok but not the anti's? Whats the matter mayor, afraid to let the little man speak and let you know your rail plan is too costly and won't work?

I am all for it if the people use it. But it seems like too many folks are lazy and would rather drive and not deal with the hassle.

What happened to Panos one good idea of limiting access to freeways with traffic lights at on ramps during congested periods?

Bet you THAT would p.o. some of his anti-everything supporters, when the connecting surface streets gridlock to a crawl!

"I'm under attack for false reasons."

You want to waste billions of taxpayer dollars on a project that will do nothing to reduce traffic congestion or bottlenecks for more than a decade to come. I'd say that's a very good reason.

When you elect someone named "Mufi", You get what you deserve. This guy is a crook. He could care less about the people of ewa beach and the west side. Financial gain, one way or the other is his only real plan. You push through a multi-billion dollar project that will enrichen many people, not to mention the inevitable cost over runs, and you will be taken care of for the rest of your life. Politics/corruption; same thing

Park and ride lots, staggered work hours, more busses etc. They're more cost effective ways to at least lessen the congestion than cramming a multi-billion white elephant down the already tremendously over-taxed citizens of this state. Anybody oppose this guy in the election and Honolulu will have a new Mayor.

I've read any number of stories scrutinizing the rail project and the mayor. Have yet to read any story that puts the anti-rail crowd under the same microscope.
