I personally respect John McCain, but realize that he must now flip-flop to appease the party that he represents.
Regardless of my opinion concerning McCain, I do not respect the current Republican Party, and that's why McCain will not get my vote. I do not trust the immoral, arrogant & ignorant Neocons to run a lemonade stand, much less my country.
Cool screen name. Good post, too. I once repsected John McCain, and thought that he was a Republican I could even consider voting for. But by sucking up to Jerry Falwell and reversing himself on every position that the Far Far Right doesn't like, he's effectively destroyed all connection with the one voting bloc that could have elected him: the moderate swing voters. Those voters will overwhelmingly flock to Obama now, and the evangalists (whose political power was always a little exaggerated anyway), won't support him in numbers that will come close to making up the difference. The Religious Right hates and mistrusts a flip-flopper (see Mitt Romney), and with even psychos like Ann Coulter coming out against him, I just can't see him energizing a dispirited GOP base. The newly-named Doubletalk Express is heading straight off a cliff into political oblivion.

Frankly, there are only three real morals in this world: do not kill another person for ANY reason, do not steal from another person unless it is your last choice between you and death, and do not force someone into sexual situations or actions with force or threats of physical force.
That is IT as to the 'morality' that people should adhere to.
If such things as unjustified slander and the act of deceiving others into committing the crimes you list aren't immoral as well, then your list falls short of defining decent behavior.

However, I agree that true morals are basically simple, and that the word 'morals' is often a deceptive label applied to an immoral campaign to destroy liberty. The moral violations by the current administration are obvious.

When the far right can no longer sing the praises of the people they put in office, what do they have left but attacks.
They'd been doing it for so long now, the attacks no longer hold water.
Hard to say dems like big gov, when they themselves have grown the gov to record levels.
Same goes with spending, nation building, etc.
REPUB STRATEGY: When your guys have failed at everything, attack those who haven't.
The author of these comments was mistaken. The people that the Republican base put in office turned their backs on them too. That is why Obama has such high numbers. The Republican elites tried to shove Mitt Romney at their constituants and were opposed Mike Huckabee who their party would have reluctantly sided with had they supported him instead. Now the election is Obama's to lose thanks in large part to the religious right being enraged with their own party heirarchy.

Flip-flopping Senator John Sidney McCain would be more of the same George W Bush politics of war, hate and fear.
Its funny how people look at only two political party's. There is a better choice!! Vote Constitution Party. Vote Chuck Baldwin for POTUS

When McCain can't profile himnself as the antithesis of Bush he will lead the Republican party to disasterous defeat in November. When the new Democratic leadership offers significant improvements over the Bush legacy of failures, it may take decades for the GOP to recover. Bush's failures will not be gone simply because Bush is gone.

Here, here, well said! The power of government must be in the hands of the people. The constitution and bill of rights are well worth guarding and protecting, at all costs. Without them in place we quickly become just another nation in history without a purpose and distinction.

The day of the Conservative Republican is over as we know it. The ultra-right wing party led by nitwits like Rush Limbaugh and his minions Sean Hannity and the rest of the hate-filled radio clowns who pollute the airwaves day in and day out with there nonsense and constant drivel. These morons have resulted to trickery and deception to try to win the White House! No substance, because they have none. Rush with his "Chaos" crap just proves that these fools can't win on the issues so they want to disrupt the democratic process by having rebublicans vote in primaries for candidates that they have no intention on supporting in the fall. This is soooooo sad. John McCain with his weakened platform and Bush talking points will get crushed in the general election.

it is about time america is waking up. just look at what the last 8 years has brought us. dangerously low taxes, outrageous climate change, and both of our healthcare and education systems are in the tank. it is time for the far left to come together and straiten this fascist country out. bring it to where our founding fathers intended.

Get back to us when you've finished duking it out with the Libertarians and "Ron Paulites" for the "New Home of American Conservatism" title.

That's absolutely amazing, I thought that U.S. News and World Reports went belly up years ago.
I am glad to hear they are still around.
Change, now who could argue with that, if we could get someone to run to expand on the Change to include things like free health care, reduced work week, lower interest rate, higher salery, lower taxes, free eduction, free gasoline, early retirement, free beer and a few more things I have on my list then maybe I would vote for them.

There's no way he can be his own man and also tap into the Neocon money machine. His own party is forcing him toward defeat.

It is safe to say that neither party really represents the average American.
Maybe not, but the Dems sure come a lot closer.

I almost hope a Obama is elected i will deal with four years of garbage to make people realize that they are wrong on almost all issues. The problem with this country is that everyone wants something for free...liberals want to increase welfare, increase unemployment, and increase the middle class taxes to pay for it all and they want to increase the rich peoples taxes but why should they be penelized for doing well for themselves and makign money they earned it elt them keep it i am middle to lower class and hope that one day i can do better for myself and i hope when i do it isn't taken from me through high taxes for teh rich to pay for teh poor who sit on their backsides and take handouts all day...

Dangerously low taxes--exactly what does that mean?

Ron Paul is not going to leave his cushy seat in congress, especially since he is running unopposed, and as for the Libertarians, they go to far in deregulating government.
the Constitution Party wants to follow the U.S. Constitution as closely as humanly possible!!!!

Why? Because of his name, his color, some lie (ie, Muslim, foreign citizen, antiwhite, etc.), or just because you believe all Democrats are Communists?

If you wouldn't mind, would you please explain the heath care and education remarks, too? The climate change makes me curious only in that 15 years ago the same scientists told us the world was undergoing a massive cooling trend.
