Dec 2, 2012 Full story: Roll Call 84

McCain, ranking Republican on the Armed Services Committee, said Nov. 29 that he and Chairman Carl Levin made a conscious decision to prove to others that the Senate can still function without cutting off some avenues for filibusters in January.

Obama doesn't need to do much at this point since the GOP wants to play hard ball... the people will create the discomfort for the House!
Yep! That's the plan. It's like President Obama's gift to the people who voted for him. They get to continue to GLOAT about the election, until New Year's Day 2013!!!!

Thank you, Mr. President.

I would love to be able to believe that, but part of me thinks they really like the scorched earth, political philosophy....Like, if we can't win the Whitehouse, we'll show them.....

Really? You do realize he was just RE-elected for four more years as president of the United States of America, right? Meanwhile, you are rambling about junk food and traitors.

The great thing about the current Senate budget proposal is, in the future, Obama can raise the debt ceiling as he sees fit, without approval from Congress. Should save a lot of time.

Until he leads as a President, and for All of America, he is just still an Organizer, that can't get organized.

There are no losers. Only winners. WE ALL won. We have a President who has the political courage to let the Bush tax cuts expire (at least for the top earners) to start to get our fiscal house in order. Romney would have just cut taxes and spend more like Bush did. President Obama is leading. He will not bend over backwards for the GOP like he did during the first term. The GOP have shown time and time again they are only interested in policies that tank the economy.

The GOP TEA Party RINO policy of spending and cutting taxes has balooned the debt.By not appeasing them he is showing them the right way to fiscal responsibility. It is simple math. You spend. You tax.

If he has the political courage, why is he asking the republicans to make concessions. He is a wimp with no plan.

President Obama compromised the last two years on spending cuts. Spending cuts WERE made. Look at NASA!

It's time for Boehnor and the GOP TEA RINOs to finally get serious and start working with the President instead of against him. What has the GOP TEA RINOs compromised? President Obama gave them their additional two years of Bush tax cuts extended already ALONG with spending cuts and they STILL behaved like stubborn little brats. The GOP are the "wimps" with no plan. It's time for them to make the concessions. They can't weasel out of this one.

no spending cuts were made at all. Last year was a record spending year. NASA cuts were made before the nitwit took office.

yes nitwit but the cuts were made before. Since obammy hasn't had a budget there hasn't been one single cut to anything. Last year there was record spending.

Well if Obama is such a great leader, speaker and negotiator, he should put the whole negotiations on TV for all to see. You know make his liberal children proud. Remember, they work for us. What's all this back room hooey. Obama said he would be the most transparent ever. Letís let him prove it.

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth (or maybe a$$) in this case. You say there was no budget but blame him for all the spending and none of the cuts. You can't have it both ways. You've lost all credibility.
