Nothing has ever stopped the people from something they really wanted. Without the MSM you would be a closet society living in SF and Hollywood. The sure must add yeast to your propaganda........I mean the way it makes your 2% look like 25%.

I think I have figured out WHY flamers want the sanctity of Marriage on their unions. Closet Christians. On the outside they bluff and bluster about not caring about God and Church yet here they are SCREAMING for the "right" to a Matrimonial ceremony to "bless" their union. But in secret they are scared sh1tless about living in sin. Not that the practice of Homosexuality isn't sin enough,THAT part they disregard.... Its the living together without benefit of the social contract of matrimony that they want to rectify,so in God's eyes they are no longer "living in sin",unmarried as it were.

Flamers have been offered civil unions in the past only to say that wasn't good enough. The more radical flamers demanded that clergy be FORCED to perform ceremonies,but most have been more sensible about the matter. I have no problem with gay unions recognized by the state as having the same benifits as couples wedded by clergy and sanctioned by society as a couple. Its the MARRIAGE part many don't care to see attached to any gay union. That in itself has a religious connection to it that predates governments stucking their noses into what had been a function of the Church. Governments only became interested in the institution when some smart beaurocrat discovered that an untapped source of revenue was available in selling licenses to marry. Making a union legitimate in the eyes of the State,in addition to the church.
