Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney continued Tuesday to push back on calls to release more years of tax returns, and defended keeping investments in offshore accounts - both issues that have been handicapping his run for the White House.

President Obama has accused Mitt Romney of raking in profits from investing in companies that ship American jobs overseas, but according to his most recent financial disclosure, he and First Lady Michelle Obama have hundreds of thousands of dollars in a mutual fund that has large holdings in corporations that outsource jobs.

“(Romney) invested in companies that have been called ‘pioneers’ of outsourcing,” Obama said at a Saturday campaign event in Glen Allen, Va.“I don’t want a pioneer in outsourcing. I want some insourcing.”

But Obama’s own portfolio shows a willingness to invest in American corporations that have shifted employment overseas.

Food and fuel prices are high and I need both.

So, I bought a shovel to till a garden so my family can eat. I had a really hard time convincing my neighbors that it was in their self-interest to help me dig my garden. So I had to go at it alone.

My back is still killing me, but when my wife and kids eat each evening I remind them that we are now obligated to pay taxes to China for our food. After all, the least we can do as a family is honor China for their gratuitous assistance they offered when they stole US technology to build the mills that could churn out the steel and wood for my shovel.

Actually, China really started growing with Mao, so I guess it all rolls back to him and his grave. Please forget that he killed a bunch of folks in his country by rationing food and starving them.

After this project, I realize I will need to pay for my shovel along with my seeds, fertilizer, water and property taxes each year, so I plan to build a home brewed bio-diesel rig that will power my truck so I can drive to work. I guess I’ll send my second tax check to Obama because he champions alternative energy and it’s now the American way and the clear way forward, not backward.

I don’t know how I’m going to tackle the electrical smart grid Obama is building with GE and Immelt? Still mulling this one over. I guess the end result will mean harder work and a third check payable jointly to Immelt and Obama.

All this Obama logic is really starting to make a lot of sense to me now.
All we need is four more years.

I would be happy to pay the corporate tax rate if I simply get the corporate deductions. Since I use my car to get to work, it should be deductible. Since I have to have a place to eat and sleep, since I can't work without having those things they should be deductible. Since just about everything becomes deductible, my rate would be about the same as GE and I would pay zero. Additionally, I would expect the same perks and get a huge sum back for my "contributions" to society.

Wow, now you are trying to compare investing in a mutual fund that spreads its investment all over to someone who was in charge of a company that bought manufactures and then closed them down putting thousands of people out of work and frequently sent those jobs overseas. Mutual funds are purely investment companies and have nothing to do with managing the companies they invest in. Romney on the other hand was buying companies and selling off their assets while borrowing as much as he could driving up their debt. Then he would close the company down screw the people he had borrowed from and everybody who worked there. But of course the Rat Wing will tell the lie that President Obama was doing the same.
