Oh well. It was fun while it lasted, and it was simply a matter of time before this loophole was
closed.

It may not be so easy. There are Federal, State, County and Municiple Taxes-----the bookkeeping nightmare will be ornerous.

Perhaps we should look at a per e-mail tax to help level the playing field with the US Postal Service. Or a tax to watch a movie online to help the local theater. If work at it just a little, I'm sure we can find a multitude of new taxes, all for a good cause.

Most of our newer invensions and techno discoveries have come from military or government wants and needs, like the internet and microwave ovens. The post office and other government agencies could have taken the lead in our ever changing world insted of screw up everything they touch and run.

There are nearly 10,000 different taxing jurisdictions. This is according to one of my Senator's office I called. I called them both and they are both against the bill.

I still wonder how the US Legislative Branch can give powers to states to force businesses, that have no presence in that state, to do anything.

Change the name from a tax to a "fee" and get
it done.

The Constitution says that the Congress shall
have the power to regulate Commerce among the
several states.

Anyone here like the TV show Fringe? I only bring that up as the premise of the show was technology advancing to a point where the normal regulations would have worked.

Take gun regulation or clip size regulation. out of all the discussion going on 3d printing and mold injection are mostly no where to be found. Those technologies are growing at such a fast rate; mainly 3d printing that it will make any clip size and even some gun regulation obsolete.

Encryption technologies to stop online government spying.

There are plenty more but you get the idea.

For this tax law, you will have to VPN or proxy your internet traffic to a more tax friendly place before you purchase your orders. Just like grandma in Canada buying socks online for little Jimmy.

Technology is rapidly changing the way society works and we all know that the people making the laws are oblivious to the technologies they are trying to regulate. Republican or Democrat, we need to keep all of them away from technology regulations.

They are not creating a fee or tax, they are allowing one state to impose a burden on businesses in another state.
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises +++++ shall be uniform throughout the United States;++++++ nearly 10,000 jurisdictions

This is another of the Democrats wish bills that won't pass. The people don't want it, and the House won't let them have it. They have to run for reelection next year. Let's see the Democrats are lagging berhind on the gun control bill the immigration bill, the internet tax bill. What do you think they can get passed? How about nothing.
