Protests? Since when is looting and arson known as protest. Is this another example of Liberal doublespeak? Does the Governor think we're stupid? Yes, these Democrats think everyone is stupid.

Another idiot democrat Governor is in charge now so the chaos will go on forever.I remember the words of democrat Mayor Richard Daly in the Chicago riots of the 1960s-"shoot to kill" looters. And the riots stopped. But we dont have that kind of reality based leadership anymore especially with democrats. The voters put that Governor in charge so now MO. will pay the price. And the chaos will spread to other cities and towns in MO. so long as it continues in Ferguson.

This Midwest Governor seems to have a 50s era Mayberry view of law enforcement. The Africans burned the South Los Angeles/Compton/Long Beach corridor multiple times, leaving mile after mile in utter ruin. Perhaps the good Governor should do a little research concerning those "protests". Were he to do so, he might better appreciate the heavy military equipment local municipalities have available for use when the need arises - and it surely will.

Hey you protestors are breaking laws and hurting people. If I was the protestors I would be embarrassed after seeing the strong arm robbery video . It's a bad situation but honestly is the only policy . Right Is right and wrong is wrong.

No news crew was attacked. The troublemakers were detained for a short time because they would not follow simple police commands.

CNN and Washington Post are both guilty of intentionally trying to inflame problems by posting the actual address of the innocent police officer, threatening his safety, his house and his neighbors. That is an example of the extreme irresponsibility of the total deterioration of journalism in this country. There were other sources also giving out sufficient information on the now proven innocent police officer, but not as egregious as CNN and Washington Post. At least those two sources need to have their so-called journalists targeted like they tried to do to the police officer.

In Ferguson, neither the 'Community Policing' nor the 'overwhelming force' approach seems to have worked.

Troutboy, we should always be concerned when journalists are arrested and folks are told to stop filming?

If the cops are doing their job correctly, why would they be against filming?

One by one, every single claim of those rationalizing their looting and arson with concern for Brown is being shown false. The claim that he was shot in the back turns out false. Autopsies establish every shot was from the front.

The journalists making that claim were asked and told thirty times to leave the place of business calling police in to complain about them impeding business. Thirty times. During those orders, they continued "filming" to intimidate the police and disregard legal orders.

I respect Nixon for his service, calm demeanor and valid attempts to defuse the situation. However, despite his efforts things went back to riots, looting and burning. Nixon now needs the help of the National Guard. So he actually has the REAL military in town.

Perhaps his criticism of the Ferguson Police was premature, as he's now been forced to apply even more aggressive tactics.

What are the Guardsmen supposed to do?

Yell trick or treat at the rioters and expect them to surrender?

Rough treatment for criminals is a message that needs to be sent to the rioting ghetto dwellers.

He realized that militarized police are not enough so he called in the state militia.

RE: looters -- opportunity makes a thief. If ya gota protest organize it with the cops and deny thieves the opportunity.

Just keep in mind that protests are theater and seldom influence prosecutors or grand juries, if fact they often do more harm than good. They are great for the media and politicians and give some police departments the excuse to try out their heavy weapons.
