The United States spends more on "defense" than the next 10 nations combined.
We have troops literally stationed all over the world, some from wars fought over 65 years ago. We can somehow secure the S Korea's border, but not our own. For you neo cons, I dare you to justify how troops stationed in Europe, and yes Iraq and Afghanistan are somehow "defending" the United States? ANd are you the same "conservatives" that say the health care bill is unconstitutional, yet say troops in Europe are in "defense" of our country.
ANd the biggest point of all, is we cannot afford it, and this big government foreign policy is being financed by future generations.
The federal government does not have a lot of "discretionary items that can be cut, but the defense budget is one of them.
