House rejects quick drawdown from Afghanistan

The vote was 321-93 with one member voting present, a show of bipartisanship on national security and a referendum on the president's policy after last year's troop buildup.

Easy answer. His golf game got rained out, the WH chef ran out of lobster, and Trumka, Stern, Ayers, and Wright were too busy to come visit.

Members of the House concluded that there were still far too many land mines that american soliders haven't stepped on yet to pull troops out of Afghanistan.

Not to mention what it would do to the used car bomb and suicide bomber markets.....

Yeah, much better to keep up a war and get back to cutting plans and benefits for americans.....

Can't step on all those military contractor toes, lest they seek out someone to impeach? Nixon and Vietnam come to mind. Obama may get the ax prematurely, huh?

Cowards. Liars. Fools. There IS no "national security interest" in Afghanistan!!!

This country has no leaders, either in the White House or in Congress. We are beset by idiots.

We may end up on another front shortly, Libya. Spreading ourselves a little thin seems to be the objective with this administration. Distractions, distractions......

America does not know how to withdraw troops.

We still have troops in Germany, Italy and Japan from WWII which ended in 1945, 66 years ago.

We still have troops in S Korea which ended in 1952, 59 years ago.

We still have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan after almost 10 years and no end in sight.

We can no longer afford this type of policy, yet there is no talk of bringing our troops home from Iraq, Afghanistan or even Germany. We protect these areas with money that we borrow from these very same regions, not a very smart policy.

Bring our troops home, all of them!

A politician sees his family everyday; a deployed Soldier once a year. A politician flies 1st class; a Soldier flies in a C130. A politician's pension is not reduced; a Soldier's is clawed 65%. A politician enjoys an expense account; a Soldier must justify extra rations. A politician ...vows to defend their country; A Soldier actually keeps that promise. That's all I have to say...
