McCain is unpopular among most of the republican because he is maverick and he does not belong in GOP.
It was wrong to allow McCain to become the nominee of the Republicans since as a maverick he represents the ideology of a liberal socialist.
McCain was able to take rule of the GOP and ‘drive it off the cliff’ after he was elected by non-Republicans.
McCain was able to take advantage from the votes of non-Republics including left wing liberals that wanted to elect McCain as Trojan horse within the GOP that will destroy the Republican Party from within.
McCain will not solve the energy dependency on Islamic terrorist oil-rich regimes like Saudi Arabia and will continue to force the hard working American people to send their paychecks to enrich the sheiks of the Middle East and go bankruptcy.
McCain as a maverick has different positions on most of the issues than the Republicans that he was elected to lead except the war in Iraq that he wants to keep but who wants to stay in Iraq anyway for no gain?
It is time to have a third party candidate for the presidency that will support the GOP position on US oil domestic production and drilling for oil, oil shale, coal gas and tar in US land and waters and convert it to gasoline at half the price within two years.
McCain supports the global warming myth and the carbon taxes that will destroy the US capitalism and corporations.
In addition, McCain supports delusional ‘alternative energy’ that does not exist and will not exist during the next fifty to hundred years for the 500,000,000 car, trucks aircrafts and boats that use gasoline.
It is important for GOP to keep its ideology, which is different from that of McCain, and to elect new leadership for the party that will oppose McCain socialistic ideas of global warming and oil drilling in US.

The John McCain of today bears little semblance to the John McCain of 2000. Does a maverick physically embrace a man whose campaign smeared his own young daughter? Does a maverick reverse his positions on tax cuts for the wealthy, torture and evangelical leaders like Falwell and vote with his party's leader 95% of the time for the purpose of securing the Republican nomination?

John McCain was indeed a maverick in his youth. In fact, he was a screw up just like George W. He was a lousy student and a skirt chaser who nontheless was accepted into the naval academy and approved to be a navy pilot because of his father and grandfather's service as admirals.

Integrity is a word that no longer applies to John McCain, if it ever did. Does a man of integrity leave his injured wife to marry a much younger, well-connected, wealthy socialite? Does a man of integrity sell out to lobbyists?

People don't know the real John McCain, only the legend. The war hero whose heroic act was not in leading his men with distinction, but rather in having survived five years as a prisoner of war. While I applaud him for his courage in enduring that awful time, IF IN FACT IT ACTUALLY DID HAPPEN! Not according the other POW’s that hate his guts and call him songbird! But if he did, that event does not exempt him from criticism about the wisdom of advocating the initiation and sustainment of an endless war that has not made our country safer.

The republican party is leaving him in droves b/c they know the truth about him.

And he's outraging his own party and alienating them by sucking up to Hillary supporter's today he made an empty statement that he "might" consider Hillary for a supreme court justice and the GOP is upset about it. Which is stupid b/c more than likely she'll get that anyway from Obama if she's interested in that. I don't know if that even is something she would consider, I think she'd be more interested in being the Governor of New York. But I doubt by the end of his compaign he wil have one GOP voting for him for that move. The repub's hate Hillary, and that's all he'll have is those 1/2 of her voter's if that much, that decided to back him, and that's not all of her supporter's.. some are real demo's and will support the nominated candidate and not vote for McCain, so he's pretty desperate in my opinion. Whoever is advising him is terrible! This article is correct that he's pushing away his own party, and he's not making himself look any different than Bush.
