This isn't Herger's first year. The tragic part is his do-nothing, name-calling, fault-blaming, is popular, that's why he gets reelected time and again. Read these blogs, these are some of his supporters, do they sound happy? He got his and damned if he wants any competition for it.

Yes Herger is a do nothing. As a simple example. The paving of forest road 171. The Inskip to Butte Meadows road. They got 3 of the 9 miles done. Did Herger do anything to help that project? NO. If it's not for his own benefit or his close friends in agri bus. it doesn't exist. He bashes everybody not republican and is guilty of everything he blames them for . Thats why the Tea gangs like him. He's their comfort food.

You got it, Bob. The Repubies have that exact tactic and you hit the nail on the head. They take all their greatest injustices and blame them on the Dems, pretending to be the solution when they are the problem personified. They made me say that.

I've also written to Herger. I've received personal responses. I was polite in my questioning. No, I don't always agree with Herger, but I've learned to be nice to him or he won't answer. I get the feeling you were kind of snotty in your questioning, and he roundfiled your letter.

It's always better to call his office, his staff is nice. When I had an unacceptable problem with the Chico post office, Wally's office helped me, after I'd put up with our local post master and his ineptitude for years.

Jim Reed acted like a total ass - I would never approach him. You could see the way he would treat anybody who disagreed with him. Herger may ignore you if you're rude, but he won't ignore you just because you disagree with him. In fact, I think he loves to argue, as long as it doesn't get nasty.

If you had wanted a more detailed response from your illustrious "congressman," you should have slipped a few hundreds in the envelope along with the letter.

Wow, what makes you so lucky??? I have always been respectful to him when I write as that is the way I was brought up. I have had valid questions that concern my welfare. I don't think it has anything to do with party, because he has no idea I am a democrat. I think his staff is assigned to answer letters (they should be) and he doesn't instruct his staff very well, if at all. I have written about such things as the billing practices of Feather River Hospital (non-partisan) and gotten no good response. I have also written to Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein and have gotten good response. Why do I have a congressman at all?

Well, I can say exactly same about Boxer and Feinstein - I have never got any response from Boxer or Feinstein that wasn't a form letter. I wrote e-mails to Boxer and Feinstein, telling them I was considering changing from Demo to Repub because of the way the Demo's were voting - they both sent me back a form letter telling me why they were supporting Obama's health care plan. I sent Feinstein an e-mail including some bills from a hospital visit - I never got a response at all on that.
